randyc Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Hey guys, I know the Franklin Mint 1936 Mercedes 500K roadster was their first car, but what was the first Danbury Mint 1/24 car?
Snake45 Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Dunno, but I found a long list if you want to go through it and search: https://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/list_reviews/xq/ASP/manufacturer.Danbury Mint/classification.Danbury Mint/searchScale.1%3A24/qx/reviewresults.htm
Anglia105E Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Just a quick thank you to Richard 'Snake'....... That is one helluva list of Danbury Mint models and I shall peruse it with interest ! David
THarrison351 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow (Operating Trunk) 10/1987 according to that web site. I have the non operating trunk version and it's pretty crude. Especially when you consider where DB ends up with their final offerings.
randyc Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 I use the diecast.org site all the time when I'm considering a new car to add. I have a couple others, too, but diecast.org is the most comprehensive for diecasts. The Franklin Mint reviews arean't as thorough, but the Danbury part is first rate. Thanks for the answer. I wasn't about to dig through all of those pages looking at date. Wish you could organize the database by release date. I'm not sure that site is very active.
randyc Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 Update: Found one older than the Pierce Arrow - the 1934 Packard V-12 LeBaron Speedster. 8/1997 release date. From the diecast.org site.
henry57 Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 I think it was the 1935 Duesenberg SSJ released 6/87 https://www.diecast.org/diecast98/html/asp/list_reviews/xq/ASP/id.401/qx/reviewpix.htm
randyc Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 Well that one is older. Very crude. I have one in good shape and one in parts. I really wanted to paint it silver like photos I've seen. The gray does NOTHING for that car.
