gbdolfans Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Hi All, I have wondered about the Luminess air brush system that I see on TV. I know it is for women's makeup. I was wondering if anyone has tried it for models? They have an offer for $20 plus free shipping. I know it is not as good as most, but, would it be better than a rattle can? Thanks,George
Miatatom Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 (edited) Don't waste your money. My wife got one and it's a POS. Oh, and by the way, they're $140, not $20. Read the fine print. It's a total rip off. Edited December 21, 2018 by Miatatom
Jantrix Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 It's fine to get an inexpensive brush to learn with, but at least get one designed for paint. Search Amazon for air brushes and find a real one you can afford.
crazyjim Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Save your money until you can afford an Iwata.
Bill Eh? Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Luminess systems typically use airbrushes made by Sparmax. Sparmax does make good quality airbrushes. Even though they are gravity fed, the color cup is usually of a smaller capacity. The part that I would question would be the "compressor". They are designed to output a lower psi, as they are only required to apply makeup. They also do not have any pressure adjustment capability, or the ability to trap moisture. I would also suggest saving for something better, as this product might only lead to frustration, and then giving up entirely on airbrushing. Just my 2 cents.
gbdolfans Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 Thanks to everyone!! I will save my money and get a real one for hobby.
