Ramfins59 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 After almost a year of not building or finishing any models, today I FINALLY finished one...!!! This is a resin 1950 Nash kit that I got from Modelhaus before they closed up shop. It is a Curbside kit, therefore no engine or chassis detail. I painted it "plain Jane Gray" (primer) with a clearcoat. The interior is also Gray with a flat black floor and side panels detailed with BMF and Molotow pens. I added gas, brake and clutch pedals because there were none. The dash is also Gray with BMF trim and Molotow pens. I added a gauge face to the steering wheel gauge pod and also the clock face. The clock also has a PE ring for a bezel, and the gauge pod and clock both have a drop of clear epoxy for lenses. I also added interior visors (from sheet plastic) along with an interior mirror and dome light. The exterior mirror and antenna are from my parts stash. Thanks for looking in on this, and, as always, any and all comments are welcomed.
bbowser Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 I love this! I wish I had snagged one of these while I had the chance. Perfect color and stance
Phildaupho Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Very nice build of a very rare subject. I wonder how many of these Modelhaus Nash models ever got built?
Ramfins59 Posted January 9, 2019 Author Posted January 9, 2019 Thanks guys. I appreciate your kind comments. this was a fun build. I have a few more "rare subjects" to come in my pile of unbuilt resin kits
Ramfins59 Posted January 9, 2019 Author Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) Here are pics of the interior. I also added a shift lever and turn signal lever using pieces of shirt pins. Edited January 9, 2019 by Ramfins59
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Very nice rendition of the "upside down bath tub" Rich! Steve

TooOld Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Looks exactly how I remember my Aunt's Nash back in the 50's , great looking model ! Guess I missed graduate #1 .
Yahshu Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 You have done an excellent job, I've always been fond of the Nash.
Dave Van Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Nice clean work!!!!! LOVE IT! My only real Modelhaus regret.......never got one. Dad would tell a story how in high school the basketball team would have to get themselves to away games. One of the team members Dad was the local Nash Hudson dealer. He had a loaner 'bath tub' he'd allow them to take to away games. They could fit the whole team in the old Nash!!
W-409 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Very nice model of a great looking car! This is one of those bodies that I'd like to have as a modern kit. Your version looks very good. Smooth paint job and clean BMF work too, very nicely done Nash overall!
misterNNL Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Great model of an unusual car. Thanks for posting this one.
Ramfins59 Posted January 9, 2019 Author Posted January 9, 2019 Thank you all very much for your encouraging comments. Bob (TooOld) - '50's Graduate #1 was a Modelhaus 1950 Cadillac that I built about a year ago. I also have a couple of 1950's diecast cars... Chevy, Lincoln & Studebaker.
Tom Geiger Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Great work Rich on an unusual subject! Glad to see you back in the saddle building again! Keep it up!
