Brudda Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Thought I might do something different. Allison V12 in a Jeep. 1710 cubic inches with around 1500 horsepower. Here is the pic that gave me the idea. Started the engine. The engine came from a amt parts pack from a long time ago. Hope you like
Brudda Posted January 15, 2019 Author Posted January 15, 2019 I might need a new frame. Or a very big shoehorn.
Brudda Posted January 15, 2019 Author Posted January 15, 2019 Have to change the exhaust. Might be pretty uncomfortable
scalepeter Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 I like this. I thought i was being ambitious thinking of putting a v8 in this kit. Be following this one.

Brudda Posted January 16, 2019 Author Posted January 16, 2019 Thank you scalepeter, Thank you bobthehobbyguy, Thank you Rusty92. Well after showing my friend Brian the Allison (he rebuilds aircraft motors for the Reno air race guys) told me to change some things. So the engine is apart and rebuilding a few things. Here is a example of what he does. He does working cutaways of aircraft engines also. I took a pic of the motor in his Torino. Hope you like.
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 I am curious what changes you are making to the engine. I have a couple in my stash for someday projects.

Brudda Posted January 16, 2019 Author Posted January 16, 2019 Hello gentlemen. The changes are mostly cosmetic. Get rid of the chrome valve covers. In the Allison kit the wiring on the inside of the heads interfer with the blower intakes Etc. Too much chrome and in the kit the whole thing is chromed. Going to make a transfer case. I am going to try to make it four wheel drive. Going to use some of the pieces of the drive train from the amt kit of Tommy Ivos freight train, And just adapting and changing as I go.

Brudda Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Thank you and I will take pics. Have to put the project on hold. Getting ready for the NNL West. Rear wing damage on a f1 car. Repaint and reassemble. But will be back soon. I will return.
Brudda Posted January 18, 2019 Author Posted January 18, 2019 Sorry, parts will come from showboat not freighttrain
