Is this part of your initial cleaning of a new model, or was there perhaps a painting problem??

It is a paint problem.

Sorry to hear that, but that is what I thought.

I painted it then when bringing it out of the booth,  I scraped the top of the trunk on the  upper edge of the booth. I tried to touch it up and went too hard at it and caused a sag. So then I thought I should wipe it off, so it is in the pond. If I had let it dry, I likely could have touched it up after a light sanding. Painting bodies is the part of modelling I like the least.

As an aside, one day I was at a car show with my grandson and he recognized "Doc Hudson".

Working on the chassis. mostly unsucessful attempt at carpeting. Used clear instead of floor polish. likely not sticky enough.

Good start on this one. I like the Hudson and that picture of your grandson in front of it is golden. Just make sure he doesn't see it on down the road when he gets a little older. If he's anything like my son he'll want it taken down. lol :D

Thanks Tom, Steve and Vince. scompleted the dash. Disappointed with the decals. they don't measure up to the quality of the model. They came apart as soon as I touch them. I strongly suggest giving them a good coat of decal set before using. I'll try and touch them up somehow.

Stated adding fittings and such to the engine.

I like your '52 Hudson Hornet very much Pat.... in fact, seeing this build of yours makes me want to buy a 1:24 scale Hudson Hornet. It is not likely to fit into my 1958 London diorama, but I do like the look of this car. Loads of chrome on a stylish cream body seems absolutely right to me. Which kit is this Pat, if you don't mind me asking?

I like the interior colors they go well with the exterior. These are great kits but they sure eat up the chrome foil.

Great looking Hudson, They are a fun build with little trouble. So far I have only made 2 coupes and one convertible. I love them but that foiling takes a ton of motivation to get going on. Incidentally, I had no problems with the decals but I built the ones I have done raight after the kits came out, so the decals were fresh. Sure reminds me of another time when Hudson's were a common site on the roads. Yep, I am old :)

Here is my take on the 52 convertible. I used Hudson color called Texas Tan and my up top came from Motor City Resins. I used the wire wheels from the 54 Hudson kit.

In 1952, in Ontario one reused his 1951 plates with a windshield sticker. So will this car. I'll use the plate from my series
