KBryan67 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 This is probably a stretch but does anyone know where possibly they still sell 1/25 scale plastic model monster trucks (tires size bout 2 1/4 diameter). I found 1 on eBay a Datsun "scavenger" which I ordered. Im seeing 1/32 scales on eBay but that to small. Or even just the lower end (everything below the chassis) in the 1/25 scale? I've searched online and nothing besides the one I did find. Like I said I know it's a stretch or long shot but thought I would ask. Thanks all
Fat Brian Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 The easiest way to get the tires is buying the AMT USA-1 kit. It was in constant production for about a decade so the market is fairly glutted with them. Don't pay more than $15 or so for one.
KBryan67 Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 I've looked on eBay n another site can't remember but those were 1/32 scale which is to small couldn't find 1/25.
DPNM Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 You may want to check this thread. There may be more than you are aware of. It might give you a broader search. Sure eBay prices on some of these are absurd, there are times when you can get a good deal. You gotta keep your eyes open. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/139128-monster-trucks/?tab=comments#comment-2040031
Fat Brian Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 These are the ones to look for, there is also a Munsters version of this kit in black that can be found cheap.
Kit Basher Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 There's also the Lindberg kits, but I think those tires are bigger than 2-1/4". I think they're more like 3"
1930fordpickup Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) The Ford monster trucks form AMT had 3 inch tall tires. The MPC Bronco monster truck had 2 3/8 inch tall tires. Good luck fining one cheap enough to just take the tires off of. You might want to check out one of these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Revell-MONSTER-JAM-MAX-D-MAXIMUM-DESTRUCTION-MODEL-KIT-SNAP-TITE Edited April 3, 2019 by 1930fordpickup
KBryan67 Posted April 4, 2019 Author Posted April 4, 2019 Hi guys, So I got this one in mail 1/25 scale. Tires are a bit smaller then the 2 sets I aquired years n years ago but not by much. I'm gonna use bottom end for a monster truck GTO that I have. The rest of this kit (chassis on up) I'm probably gonna make a hot rod out of it. Plus I have another 1/25 monster coming in mail.
