1969 Datsun Fairlady roadster 2000, Fujimi

Color is Bugatti Sky Blue which is close to the factory “Sora blue” I was trying to mimic. 

Kit is sub-par but it’s the only one I could find of this car. Love the old Datsun cars, and I’m planing on building all fairlady’s. All I have left is the 350 and 370z.

Kit had some issues for sure: fitment was troublesome. Almost all the engine pieces were chromed. I only left the valve cover and coil in chrome since I know they are available aftermarket. The car seems out of scale to me. Tires deform pretty bad when installed on the wheels.

Really lovely build of a little-known but very cool car. Saw one in the much-missed Hemmings Sports and Exotics a couple of years ago and immediately invested in the kit. Yours looks so good I might promote it up the build list!

Fantastic!  I've got this kit in my stash and am working on building all the Fairlady/Z-cars myself. Thanks for the heads-up on the build issues, but it looks like you conquered them well. Love the color and the detailing on this build!
