Ahajmano Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 (edited) Color is Bugatti Sky Blue which is close to the factory “Sora blue” I was trying to mimic. Kit is sub-par but it’s the only one I could find of this car. Love the old Datsun cars, and I’m planing on building all fairlady’s. All I have left is the 350 and 370z. Kit had some issues for sure: fitment was troublesome. Almost all the engine pieces were chromed. I only left the valve cover and coil in chrome since I know they are available aftermarket. The car seems out of scale to me. Tires deform pretty bad when installed on the wheels. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Edited April 9, 2019 by Ahajmano
Gramps46 Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Nicely done indeed. Never knew of this kit but you nailed it. A friend had one and I drove it on a road trip and was quite impressed.
Matt Bacon Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Really lovely build of a little-known but very cool car. Saw one in the much-missed Hemmings Sports and Exotics a couple of years ago and immediately invested in the kit. Yours looks so good I might promote it up the build list! Brilliantly done. All the best, M.
Ahajmano Posted April 8, 2019 Author Posted April 8, 2019 Thanks for all the kind comments Friends! Lesson learned... my next builds will be Tamiya's LOL
DPNM Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Looks like it to would be a fun little car and you did it in scale nicely. Excellent build!!
Rich Chernosky Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Very nice build, great detail work on the body and engine.
Ahajmano Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 Thanks guys! Really appreciate the positive feedback!!! Gives me motivation to continue
Roadrunnertwice Posted April 25, 2019 Posted April 25, 2019 Fantastic! I've got this kit in my stash and am working on building all the Fairlady/Z-cars myself. Thanks for the heads-up on the build issues, but it looks like you conquered them well. Love the color and the detailing on this build!
