thatz4u Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 (edited) Just finished this one, now to find something to shoehorn it into....maybe a roadster or not.... http://saltofamerica.com/contents/displayArticle.aspx?19_313 Edited April 24, 2019 by thatz4u
89AKurt Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 That one of the AMT Parts Pack engines? I got the Replicas & Miniatures of MD resin copy years ago, had started a project I call Bigatti. I need to do more research to modifying the carb system, and doing oil lines. Thought the GM General transmission and differential would handle the power.

Jantrix Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 When I started this Charger project, I contacted the fella in that roadster. He advised a carb set-up like this, as the molded part is aircraft fuel specific.

I believe I used the top of the plenum that these carbs fit on from their original kit ('55 Jukebox Ford), and added them to the Allison piece, with the aviation carbs removed. Pretty easy fabrication really. A shot with the fuel plumbing started. Edited April 26, 2019 by Jantrix
stavanzer Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Wow, great info on the Carbs! I had not known. I'll try to Remember this when I build mine.

Jantrix Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Thanks. It's a spring loaded parts holder from Micro Mark.

Ace-Garageguy Posted April 29, 2019 Posted April 29, 2019 Just an FYI...anybody wanting to put one of these in anything other than an airplane can dispense with the gear-reduction prop drive on the end. These big aluminum bellhousings replace the gear-reduction box. And here are a coupla threads that illustrate the above point, as well as many details concerning plumbing, cooling, etc.
