Brianl Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Starting with everyone's Lindberg's Little Red Wagon (hands up anyone who hasn't had one?) Wide body comes from the Fujimi "Over Fender Set". Base and drivetrain is Tamiya Lola T93 in 1/20, severely shortened! Not the first time I have mixed scales but it fits and this is a bit of a cartoon car anyway. About to start a lot of body work as you can see. I think the wheels came from a van kit but I'm not sure any more. I wanted to chop the top but I found photos on the net of real ones and the proportions didn't look right so I cut out the section below the turret and dropped it into the body. This gave me the lower roof line and kept the opening proportions. Happy to hear comments! Have a good one - Brian
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 I love this kind of mashup....keep it going!!! -RRR

misterNNL Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Outstanding concept. Very creative stuff. Thanks for sharing.
espo Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 I agree with misterNNL, that's about as creative as it gets. I like how you have duel tires on the drive wheels. Great looking ground effects.

bisc63 Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 That cab looks a little too "heavy" in the C-pillar area (IMHO) compared to all the nice swoopy, open shapes you are adding. Hows about cutting away some of that metal and grafting in a '59 El Camino wraparound back glass to visually lighten 'er up?! Just a thought that popped in my head at first glance, but I really dig this kind of build; VERY creative use of an old kit! Looking forward to more...
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) Always a treat to see the wild work you do. Rock on. Edited April 28, 2019 by Ace-Garageguy
misterNNL Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Imo the wrap around glass would be a nice addition but I would not want to mess too much with the three remaining panels that retain some of the original " product Identity" of the truck those being the front body panels, cab roof and tailgate. I'd rather retain that Red Wagon identity than have someone look at the finished model and wonder what I started with.
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 I agree you want to keep it looking like a modifed little red wagon rather than a whats it. You've got a lot of body work ahead. Looking forward to seeing more progress.
Silver Foxx Posted May 8, 2019 Posted May 8, 2019 I like where this is going Brian , it is what I would expect from your line of modelling , keep up the good work .
Brianl Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 Body is just about ready for paint. I think I'll keep the roof as is. The idea is good but I think the mass wont look so bad when its painted.. Brian
paul alflen Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Hey Brian, that is one kool kat, mate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just think you didn't even get high to imagine that model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
