DPNM Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 (edited) I built this for a guy I worked with a couple years ago. It's rather large and takes some time to build. I had to paint the outside 4 times 'til it looked good to me. Edited May 2, 2019 by DPNM
peteski Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Nice! Hopefully the top half is easily removable to show of that nice interior.
SfanGoch Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 That Jupiter 2 looks great, Jim. One of the best sci-fi kits ever made. I have two and am prepping both for fiber optic lighting of the panels and the Lighting Kits. Which paint did you use for the hull?
DPNM Posted May 2, 2019 Author Posted May 2, 2019 (edited) Thank you peteski & SfanGoch. I did build it so the top half of the ship is removable. It shows as the next to last pic so a lot is still hidden by the top ring. The outside was painted with Dupli-Color silver out of the rattle can (better coverage/wider pattern). No clear-coat. There are various shades of Dupli-Color silvers and greys on the interior along with my first use of water base acrylic paints on some of the parts. Inner/bottom is Dupli-Color black primer. The guy I built it for received it as a Christmas present from a co-worker. He didn't get the lighting kit. It is a well designed and executed kit. Edited May 2, 2019 by DPNM
bisc63 Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 You did a very nice job, he should be really happy with that!
Jim N Posted May 2, 2019 Posted May 2, 2019 Great job! I remember my dad watching that show when I was little.

Guess I was too preoccupied looking at Marta Kristen. The mom was pretty hot too...if you could get past the Lassie association. Edited May 2, 2019 by Ace-Garageguy

June was a good looking lady.
Classicgas Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Well done. As corny as the aliens, stories and special effects were, the wife and I enjoy watching it. Angela is a year older than the wife, and reminds me of her at that age, that's why I like it lol.

And speaking of the Invaders, I was channel surfing over the weekend (and nigth) and the premiere episode was being shown on MeTV. Looks like they will be showing the series.
