I'm a fan of that one too. It's insanely over the top, and when I look too hard I start seeing proportional issues, but if I just let myself enjoy it...it's a lot of fun :)

I'm sort of hoping to eventually track down an MPC Street Fever/Street Shark/Mako Shark kit in order to build something in this vein...fender flares, super fat white-letter tires, heavily chopped bunker-slit windows, and a tunnel ram or blower with dual quads and velocity stacks punching through the hood. I was even considering cutting the "point" off the 'vette's nose in order to create a flat-front design somewhat like the Star Trek Coupe. I'd have to play around with the kit a little in order to determine if that's a bad idea, or just a terrible one. Either way, the idea of building a Hot-Wheels style hot rod is appealing!

When ever I look at some of these wild one off show cars. I wonder.

What ever happened to a lot of them.

I know several have survived from back then ,,,,but this as an example I've seen or heard of before makes me think its gone

edit, just used google and found out this particular car was done  in the 1975-76 time frame. and went thru a couple changes . but still exists . residing in the Daryl Starbird museum in Kansas

Not 100% certain, but I recall reading somewhere that the Futurista (the VW engine three-wheeled car, that Monogram made a kit of) was wrecked in a transport accident, and Starbird recycled parts of its body to build this car.

Another one you might want to look at as the basis of a wild custom would be the Casper Turbo Shark. Anything you could do to the nose of THAT one would be an improvement!

Thanks for the recommendation, but oooof. Not confident I could do anything at all to improve that design!

I know what you mean. I have one and I'm trying to figure out what I can do with it.

Ugh! I am correct in assuming that a C2 Vette had to die for that thing to be created?

Yeah, you have to look close, but there's a C2 just discernible under all the assorted backbirth.
