BIGTRUCK Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 (edited) I ordered some 1:25 scale sitting people to paint up to look like the Beverly Hillbillies but they just cleared customs from China 2 days ago, but I did complete the truck. I will paint the figures when they show up.This is the picture I used for reference. Edited June 5, 2019 by BIGTRUCK
Bucky Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 So cool! This looks great! I have this kit in the stash. I've worn it out taking it down from the shelf, and putting it back! LoL

Jim N Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 Very cool! The paint and details look like the car / truck in the show. I think I read that with Donna Douglas' passing a few years ago, Max Baer (Jethro) is the only regular cast member of that show still alive.
BIGTRUCK Posted June 10, 2019 Author Posted June 10, 2019 (edited) The figures came in . Jed was changed to MPC Gangster figure with a shotgun. Barrel was made longer on the shotgun. Need to modify Granny and Jethro to make them look a little more original. Edited June 10, 2019 by BIGTRUCK
Hermann Kersten Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Nice subject and a very nice model, i like it. Hermann.
Cpt Tuttle Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 Nice battered old warrior, very good weathering. Nice to see a Beverly Hillbillies kit being built.
thatz4u Posted June 16, 2019 Posted June 16, 2019 Wellll Doggies Jethro, the truck looks better than ever!!
BIGTRUCK Posted June 16, 2019 Author Posted June 16, 2019 Thanks to all for all the positive comments. Figure detailing is an art I never got the hang of, close enough on these works for me.?
spencer1984 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Nicely done, I especially like the added touch of the open cowl vent. Nice job on the figures, too - I've tried a couple of times but have never really been satisfied with any of my attempts. It's definitely a unique challenge!
Goose1957 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 I keep coming back to this, it's so nice. Every time I look at the pics, I see something that I missed before. The figures turned out great. I agree, people are the hardest thing to model. I can never get the flesh looking right. Takes a lot of talent to get the skin looking like it's alive. Your figures just add that special touch that makes it instantly recognizable as the Beverly Hillbillies truck. Great job. Jeff

Mike999 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 The best version of this kit I've ever seen done. Nice work on the figures. I also try to build 1/35 military. But the finesse some modelers can put into those tiny figures often makes me want to give up. I found the perfect accessory for your BH truck, and the perfect place to display it. The original Beverly Hillbillies house is on the market, and you're in luck! It was just marked down. When it went on the market in 2017 it was the most expensive house in the USA, with an asking price of $350 million. Recently reduced to only $195 million. Among other amenities, it has a wine cellar that will store 12,000 bottles of vino (or moonshine), and a 40-car garage. https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/06/26/beverly-hillbillies-bel-air-espensive-real-estate-drops-price/
