I agree with casting the wheels and tires. Being a ford guy no need for another SBC ancor. Greg guys are always asking for another option for these SBC. They must blow them up in plastic also. HEHE

Another one of those kits that I said I will pickup a few at the next show and they were not there.

It's a spray bottle called PURPLE POWER.  I probably bought it at Wally World some time ago.  Here are some pics of the first set.  I added a drop of black dye.  Might be easier to chrome with one of those pens or alclad spray.

Unless you were building a Deuce with over the frame headers that you wanted to go back under the car to join the exhaust, I don't see that the frame would be super useful if you were thinking of casting it. Personally I don't know that you'd sell enough of them to get the cost of the casting rubber back. I have built several of the Revell Deuces and have several more in the works and I have never used the Rat Roaster frame. I did not want to have to mess with filling those notches. However, to be fair I build mostly traditional rods. Other folks may feel differently.

Although I would agree the frame is probably the same with the exception of the exhaust cutout. The rear inner fender parts are different on the 3 Window, and possibly others, are different with a kick up on the rear edge. The SD roadster are fairly straight across. I am sure they are interchangeable. I have an SD Roadster on my bench, and tried a Coupe body on the frame for fun ,and this what I found.

I will give the tires a try.  I filled the tires in and created clay bases for them.  Now they are boxed in and ready for silicone.  I have made hollow tires in the past.  Removing the clay from inside of the tire once side one is done can be a challenge.

HHHMMMM, I just realized after posting this that a materials test should be done.  It is possible that the silicone will not like the tire material and will not cure against the tires surface then I will end up with uncured goo.

Received some of these today, from Greg. Excellent quality. Good idea on the black resin. One suggestion, if you could fill in the fins around the outside of the wheel, inside the tires. These wheels fit the amt parts hollow redline tires. But any other solid tires, these would need trimming for. Im worried about cracking the wheel when I plan to trim them. Again, great casting! Look perfect!

Thanks for the suggestion.  There is another small round part the axle goes in that I did not include, sorry.  I am trying the tires but so far I'm not having any luck making them but I will keep trying.

I got a set from Greg and sprayed them with AlClad pale gold for a ‘33 I’m working on. I also have a set of tires he did, but there was a problem with the mold and he has to make a new one.

Seems like a no brainer  since there are no Small Block Chevy engines in any of those ubiquitous Revell Deuce kits. Just this Stacy David Rat Roaster which many confuse with the big block due to his name "Rat Roaster"

Greg, you may want to consider offering the chopped windshield from the Rat Roaster. A good looking chopped windshield is a much needed part on the market. With a little work this particular piece can be made to fit the older Revell bodies, and possibly even the old Monogram based roadster bodies as well.

Thanks, I did remove the chrome from this part and intend to make a mold of it and some other parts from this kit too.  The tire mold was kind of a bust and I want to do it again.  I need more mini me's.  I do have Marty helping out too.  Also I have a group of guys that are coming to my shop and help whip it into shape so productivity can be increased to.  I am a horrible organizer!
