Ben Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Looking for suggestions on a very flat clear coat. I’m looking to clear over some black vinyl decals. They’re decals for truck mudflaps. I’m hoping to make the black rectangle the words are printed on to blend in with the flat black mudflap. any help is appreciated!
89AKurt Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Since I couldn't get Testors Dullcote, have been using Model Masters flat clear lacquer. I'm not totally satisfied in the result, still has some sheen, unlike regular flat color paint. Example here.

El Roberto Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Try Vallejo matt. Works as well as any other I've tried. Might be my imagination but I think that the Dull Coat isn't as flat a finish as it used to be.
espo Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Tamiya offers two different clears that you might look at. TS-80 is a Flat Clear and TS-79 is a Semi Gloss Clear. I has used both on interiors and chassis and engines and have always liked how they worked.
