FordRodnKustom Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Finished this one up today. I started out with this vintage kit' It was a fun little curbside build. Looks good with the C I did a while back. Thanks for looking. Comments and discussion welcome. 1
Brudda Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Just beautiful!!!! Jim Hall !!!! Great build and subject.
bbowser Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) Great model of an iconic racecar. Jim Hall ushered in a new era with his ideas about aerodynamics. Edited June 30, 2019 by bbowser
iBorg Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 I know its a bit after the fact, but any WIP photos? I've got two or three parts cars and yours looks like a great inspiration to see if I can make one good one out of them.
Snake45 Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 That is VERY cool! (I wonder if the molds for this series still exist?) Well done and model on!
Gramps46 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 You have done a very nice build of this iconic racer. I saw it race and you have brought back some great memories. Thanks for sharing.
Peter Lombardo Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 Really well done. Very clean. One of my favorite race cars fro the sixties. Too bad there was never a Tamiya or Fujimi kit of the Hall cars complete with engines. Missed opportunity Or even the Cobra Daytona Coupe, Ford GT Mark IV, the variations of the Chaparral and a nice blue King Cobra rear engine roadster . Too bad, but you did a great job on it. Many years ago I did a heavily modified "Modelers" Chaparral as I found the kit to be far too "toy like".

This is a very simple curbside kit that was meant to adapted to slot racing. I built it basically out of the box except for the decals. Here's what I have though....I had to rebuild a broken axle stub.. HTH's and good luck with your project!

That should be a challenge! LOL.
Dave B Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Very nice build Ron. I have a number of Chappies but not this one. I have however painted all the AMT 1/24th scale racing car kits for a good mate. Regards Dave B
FordRodnKustom Posted July 4, 2019 Author Posted July 4, 2019 Thanks all! I appreciate all the comments!
unclescott58 Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 A lovely model. I wish Round 2 could find the molds for this one and bring it back.

These were unique kits in that they offered then current racers, while being curbsides they do build up into decent replicas with a bit of extra detailing. I’m fortunate to have three with the Lola being the exception. Cheers Misha

I agree Scott , the Chaparral's were beautiful looking race cars ! By the way , we lost Ron (FordRodnKustom) a year ago on July 14 , 2021 . Gone but not forgotten . Edited August 19, 2022 by TooOld
