David G. Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 The color combination gives it a classy look. Great looking build. David G.
mangodart Posted July 26, 2019 Posted July 26, 2019 Beautiful as always with your build, mag 500 wheels are a nice add !!
StevenGuthmiller Posted July 27, 2019 Author Posted July 27, 2019 (edited) Thanks a bunch everyone! For the record, this kit came from the box with the vinyl top texture molded in. I did nothing more than paint it black. Steve Edited July 27, 2019 by StevenGuthmiller

My understanding is that this kit only came in one form, a single issue, was never re-popped and they were all molded in gold plastic. I have never seen anything to suggest otherwise. Steve
Bucky Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 There were promo Dodges available in other colors: I believe you're right about the glue kit being molded in gold, only.

As far as I know, this was the only 1965 Dodge Monaco kit ever produced. Steve
GaryR Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 OH MAN! I built one in 66, candy green black top! long gone. I have three of these I got in a parts bin, missing lots of parts! I THINK I got what I needed from Modelhaus before they quit, not sure! I really dig this model, UNUSUAL and you did an outstanding great job!

Later on, I found a bunch of gluebombs in a '65 Monaco box. So, I have plenty options for when i get ready to tackle the gold plastic! LOL
dimaxion Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Factory Stock is my Genera . Beautiful Replica .. stunning to see .. Thanx
MrObsessive Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 Wow! ANOTHER mid '60's Mopar on the board today! Beautiful outdoor shots Steve and it looks like you did something with the headlights. I can't find your original WIP thread, but the whole car looks TERRIFIC!

A VERY clean rebuilder with only the top painted and UNBROKEN pillars. Seems as though that was a weak spot for those as the kit aged. A lot of times if I see these on the 'Bay built, the pillars are busted. Now when I'll get to building mine is anyone's guess...........
Lordmodelbuilder Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Another beautiful build. Love your work on these older kits.
