crowe-t Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Do any kits or anyone make the wire wheels that came on 67 - 69 Camaros in 1/25?
mikemodeler Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I don't recall seeing them in a Camaro kit, might be some other kit that has something close.
Snake45 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I've never seen those wheels in any Camaro kit, or anything else I can think of. You might have to settle for "kinda close." Possible candidates for "kinda close" might include the wire wheels in the AMT 260 Cobra, the alloy non-knockoff wheels in the Revell '67 Corvette roadster, and the wheel covers in the reissued AMT 1970 Impala and 1969 Riviera.

Any of the wheels in these kits will do fine. The Camaro wire wheels don't have a criss cross spoke pattern so these should do.
Badluck 13 Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I do know the '71 Camaro promo had the wires, had one and lost it in the fire we had years ago, found this picture on the web of one....quite pricey today just to rob the wheels....
Deuces Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 I once owned a '72 Caprice Classic that had those spoked caps.... The car was tripple black with the 400 small block for power... Wish I still had it....
RichCostello Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 The Lindburg 61 Impala convertible has wires that are close. I have a set if you are interested.
ChrisBcritter Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Closest match I've found on those wire wheel covers are the ones on the Polar Lights '64 GTO.
peteski Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Maybe someone could whip those out on their 3D printer? Nowadays, sky's the limit.
64Comet404 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 The covers look very close to the ones I remember being in the AMT '66 442 convertible kit.
BubbaBrown Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I think one of the 1966 442's had wire wheel covers, it would be pretty hard to make out the center cap.

Looks like the 1966 convertible kit has wires. but looks like they have a spinner center cap though. Might be a good start though
espo Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 The wheels that gtx697 suggested may be the best valid bases with the Knock Offs removed. A very small flat "cap" of some sort for the center. The hardest part seems to be getting something that looks like a Hub Cap and not a true Wire Wheel which is what most of the options seem to look like.
RichCostello Posted July 27, 2019 Posted July 27, 2019 The wheels in the Lindberg 61 Impala convertible are almost identical(I've already sent him a set).
