These new labels on the Testors Model Master Lacquer Paints are something left to desire. I don't know who designed them but, no where on the can label is the name of the color printed on it. The only place the name shows up is on a sticker on top of the cap. Who designed this BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH?

You answered your own question.  By leaving off the color info, the same label can be used on all of the cans.

They've probably just decided that it was time to join the rest of the world.

A lot of paint producers do this and have been since.......forever.

Duplicolor paints all share the same label and have for decades.

The only difference is the cap color.

A colored cap is one thing but just a small sticker/label on a black cap?

Of course.

That way there is no need to produce caps in dozens of different colors.

Testors has also done this for decades.

The bean counters are trying to minimize costs (less individual labels to print) and thereby maximize profits. I can live with that easier than higher prices, or less color options.

I carefully peel the label designating the color off of the cap and stick it on the can, I use some scotch tape to hold the label on, if needed, then I toss the cap.... -RRR

X2 but I don't throw the cap, they stack easier.

Even if they colored it, it wouldn't be accurate to the paint.
