MurfTwice Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Trying to make me a flip nose ‘79 Bigfoot and a ‘80-‘86 Bigfoot, which they never made a scale model for, out of a Super Stones F350, ‘89 Bigfoot model and the USA-1 model kit. I was surprised to find that the USA-1 kit actually has the fender flares needed for the ‘79 Bigfoot. The ‘79 will be using the box stock engine, frame and suspension which is the same from the Original Bigfoot kit. The body from the Super Stones kit and will find some way to flip the nose. For the ‘80-‘86 Bigfoot I used the frame and suspension from the USA-1 kit, engine block and headers from a Ford stock car kit, transmission from the ‘92 body style Bigfoot. Front clip, hood and grill from the Ford F-150 “Night Rider” kit. This is all I have done now. I’m hoping by posting this it will keep me moving on finishing them and not get side tracked on other projects. The last two pics are of a mixed together, kinda pre-Bigfoot, ‘76 Bigfoot and a Meng F350 built to look like an ‘06 F250 I used to own. If anyone else has some Bigfoot models I would like to see those as well I’ve been a Bigfoot fan since Noah was a deck hand. Enjoy the pics and hope to hear some feed back.
webestang Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Great start so far. In 1982 I got to ride in Bigfoot number one. Went to Midwest 4x4 to help a buddy pick up his newly lifted truck and the owner was kind enough to give us a ride.
Goose1957 Posted August 12, 2019 Posted August 12, 2019 Cool project. I too have been a huge fan of Bigfoot (Bigfeet?) ever since it came out. I built a couple of the kits when I was a kid box stock. But I have always wanted to do something like you're doing and make a more realistic model. I'll be following along and can't wait to see your progress. Jeff
stitchdup Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Cool, the only big foot I've seen in the flesh was the one at racerock in orlando with the land train wheels. Will be following your progress
disconovaman Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Great work So far... I built this for my brother a few years ago and was able to tilt the front fairly simple... 1
MurfTwice Posted December 20, 2019 Author Posted December 20, 2019 This is the ‘79 chassis ‘79 side view and front will call this the ‘84 chassis’84 side viewand frontbodies only have first coat of paint but wanted to see how they were going to look. You can get the chrome grille from this kitor a molded in black grille from this kitI’ve built these kits waaaaaaaay back when and they are long gone but had the grilles in a parts box.
Oldcarfan27 Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 That's what I thought it was from, I'll keep a lookout for that kit. Thanks
MurfTwice Posted December 26, 2021 Author Posted December 26, 2021 Wow it has been a minute since I’ve been on but I have finally completed what I call Bigfoot 1 and 2. The last photo is still my work in progress Bigfoot 3. I may try to build a ‘93-‘96 body style with leaf springs. That body style was used when Bigfoot converted to the coilover stadium trucks of today as well. 3
Zippi Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Nice looking James. I bought the Revell Hot Wheels Monster truck a while back.
Mattilacken Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Sweet!! Always been a huge Bigfoot fan and I am stoked to se That the later stadium truck will be released again in Ford form without Bigfoot stickers though.
Bills72sj Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Very nice. The first time I saw Bigfoot in person I think was the 1984 Hot Rod Supernationals in Indianapolis. Here is a link to the Bigfoot story. http://bigfoot4x4.com/blog/the-history-of-bigfoot/

I will use the body for a The last leaf sprung Bigfoot and then the chassis will be for a ‘79 body style stadium truck. Gonna be some work to finish those two. 1

Hope mine turns out as good as yours. Am in need of decals for a #1 (or a scan of such). I am using 1/32 monster wheels and tires to replicate the 48 inchers they first used. MurfTwice Posted March 22, 2023 Author Posted March 22, 2023 We got some progress done on my Bigfoot 3 and the start of what I am going to call my Bigfoot 4. Bigfoot 3 is still missing windows, bumpers, roll bars and not everything I glued down. Here are some mock ups of my Bigfoot 4 with the 1992 body on a frame. I am using the engine, axles, wheels, tires and driver compartment from the stadium truck chassis. some group shots of 1, 2 & 3 2
magicmustang Posted March 22, 2023 Posted March 22, 2023 Wow, some great work there. Like the start of #4. I have #10 on the shelf waiting it's turn.
MurfTwice Posted March 24, 2023 Author Posted March 24, 2023 Did a little more tonight. Finished the driver compartment and now need to paint the body. Started working on my 1979 body that I’m going to put on the stadium racing frame. I did a mock up to see roughly how it’s going to look. This is the kit I’m using for the 79 body on a racing frame. This one is going to be a fun build. 1

MurfTwice Posted September 8, 2023 Author Posted September 8, 2023 Here is what I have so far. The chassis is almost complete and the body is painted for #4. The ‘79 on the racing frame I have the body painted and half of the chassis done. Thought I would mock them up to show the progress so far. One pic of them together. 2
iamsuperdan Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 Way back in elementary school, I was in the Bigfoot fanclub. I remember on my birthday one year, they sent me an 8x10 glossy, a birthday card, and a Bigfoot balloon with cardboard "feet" to put around the end. I thought it was awesome. Anyway, one of the 3D file designers I've bought from in the past has just put out a bunch of monster truck items, obviously styled around Bigfoot. Thinking about printing one. Full kits: https://cults3d.com/en/design-collections/CosplayItemsRock/monster-mega-mud-trucks-scale-1-25 He has just the chassis available too. Your post makes me want to do this.
