Italianhorses Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 This one took a bit longer than anticipated, but its completed at last! Old Tamiya kit, started as a box-stock build for a online contest, but didn’t get finished in time. Mid-build, as the box-stock requirement was lifted, some aftermarket decals and small additions like foil, etc were used to liven it up a bit. Yes, the lights work, and it does run! And a few on a base before it got sealed in the case and put on the shelf! And here is the link to WIP thread in case you missed it. Thanks! Alex 1
Gramps46 Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Can not tell it is a model. Looks just like studio shots Mazda would have used. Congratulations.

Tommy124 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 What can I say... You really make 'em come alive... Great model!

I just noticed that one of the wing mirrors in the pictures is "coming alive", i.e .coming out of the fender! When I was test fitting them, they were so snug, that I decided not to glue them at all, thinking that maybe I'll adjust them later. Totally forgot, and now I'm seeing the results of that! 1 hour ago, Yahshu said: That's one nice mobile ramp You mean the base? Its just a bottom of the display case it will be living in. Dust is a scale model cancer, and I usually seal them in individual boxes to stop that. Thanks all!
Classicgas Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Wow. Stunning. Simply the best build I have ever seen of that kit. What do you mean it runs?

My brother & I call these cars mobile ramps because of their shape & if you drop the front wheels off & you have a ramp. Sorry for not explaining my original comment a bit better. Still a very nice build. Edited August 16, 2019 by Yahshu

Peter Lombardo Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Just looks great.... the green is perfect. Nice and a half.

Thanks, color turned better than I expected! 17 hours ago, Classicgas said: Wow. Stunning. Simply the best build I have ever seen of that kit. What do you mean it runs? Well, it has a little motor that spins rear wheels using the same power source that lights up the headlights. So it literally runs. Check WIP for detail. 16 hours ago, Yahshu said: My brother & I call these cars mobile ramps because of their shape & if you drop the front wheels off & you have a ramp.
