Casey Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 (edited) Looks like the forthcoming 1/25 AMT '76 Chevy Vega F/C will be the wagon-bodied version with original box art: Edited September 25, 2019 by Casey
TonyK Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 I remember building one of these back in the day but swear it was older than 1976. Was there an earlier version or am I nuts? I'll get one of these when it comes out.
Deathgoblin Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Okay, new kits are coming out that I'm excited for. This is gonna be expensive.

Jon Cole Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 This is going to get expensive for those of us who "quit the hobby".

Casey Posted September 25, 2019 Author Posted September 25, 2019 (edited) Here's a good, related topic showing the various Logghe style Funny Car chassis', which is what this forthcoming AMT Vega F/C includes, though long outdated by 1976: Edited September 25, 2019 by Casey
iBorg Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 A really cool build up with this chassis is to use it as an early 70's street rod with either a T or Bantam body. Of course if you really want a challenge morph this body with the Revell Vega to make a Wonder Wagon. Doable, great result but a heck of a challenge.

Snake45 Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Y'all can thank ME for this reissue, as I paid $25 for this rebuildable glue bomb just over a year ago. It was just a matter of time.
TonyK Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Thanks for the info on the Vega. I recall it had no windows and the early 70's would've been what I was remembering.
larman Posted September 25, 2019 Posted September 25, 2019 Glad to see this one. I had an earlier version that I foolishly sold. Made a little $$$, but missed the model, lol!

Just another, in a stellar succession of AMT funny cars! ?
doggie427 Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 (edited) Remember versions of this kit in white and in light blue . Slightly modified chassis is short enough to put under a Willys for a start to a ‘F-Troop’ flip top gasser/altered. ? Edited September 27, 2019 by doggie427
Mr. Metallic Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Are the inner "tins" on this kit clear? If so, the usual Round2 tinted clear would look pretty cool
thatz4u Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 I always thought that Vega Wagons were funny cars right from the factory.......

Mark Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Just the scoop...a couple of other AMT kits from that period had clear scoops also.
'70 Grande Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Thanks for making this reissue happen Snake45!
'70 Grande Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 Thanks for making this reissue happen Snake45! I'm seriously thinking about giving you my Holy Grail list and seeing if I can get you to buy 'em all so I can look forward to them being reissued!?

Been buying a bunch lately, maybe I've already made it happen! If you hear that Round 2 has decided to restore the '66 Impala dirt-tracker to factory stock....well, you're welcome! (Oven in Model Airplane World, you make a new kit happen by laboriously building a vac-form, preferably and old and rare one, and getting it almost finished.)
DukeE Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 They put the quotes on the box side in the wrong places. Vega "wagon"; "Dragster-type" chassis; "Funny car" LOL.
