This is a Danbury Mint Camaro SS 350 which I won last week.  Technically it is not the Indy pace car because Franklin Mint licensed the rights to that I believe and made a fine model of it with the Indy decals.  That is why I am calling it a replica because the interior, hood,  engine  etc. differ from the actual pace car.

Left to right are the Welly Z28, M2 Z28, and the DM SS.  These will be the last of the Gen 1 Camaros I plan to collect unless a Donohue Sunoco Camaro should drop into my lap.

Looks nice Gary.  Don't hold your breath on the Sunoco Camaro.  I'd love to see any T/A series cars from the 69/71 seasons in 1/24 scale but they see to just want to push 1/18 incorrect ones onto unsuspecting buyers.

I agree with you Rex.  We discussed the 1/24 M2 Camaro and pretty much decided it wasn't worth the effort to get it remotely accurate.

So really, it is just a 69 350 SS/RS?  And happens to be white with orange?  No real Indy connection from the mint, just the colors.  I have one, too.  There are a lot of them out there, for sure.  At every price point.  Mine came from a consignment shop.  Maybe the cheapest one ever.  Needed new tires and cleaning.  But a fine car to have.  I also have the blue convertible and a yellow NAPA car with hockey stripes AND SS stripes.  Like they couldn't decide and put all the stripes on there.

Good score Gramp's.

In '69, the hockey stripes on the front fenders/doors WERE the SS stripes.

Ok, what were the hood/trunk stripes called?  I've never seen hockey and top stripes together.  Its over the top, so to speak.

Only factory available on Z/28s (and, in '69, Pace Cars and Z10s). But today they are INCORRECTLY applied to many 1st-Gen Camaros. So they're Z/28 stripes.

Ah, ok.  When I had a graphics business, dealers would ask me to do SS stripes on various Chevies.  Usually late Camaros.  Thanks for straightening me out on that.
