Two completely, entirely different kits. Your confusion comes from the fact that what's left of the old MPC '69 Camaro has been reissued at least once in an AMT box, but there is not one original AMT piece in it. The original annual AMT '69 Camaro is quite nice, and holds up well in comparison to the Revell. In some ways it's actually more accurate, though not quite as detailed in chassis and so forth. It lives on today in the body of the Funny Hugger funny car, though the wheel openings have been altered. The Monogram (introduced in the '70s) is a 1/24 scale turd. Although we had nothing else to work with for a couple decades, there is no reason to waste time on one today. No confusion Snake because of someone like Ertl re boxing an MPC kit as an AMT. It's just in some cases, some kits and tooling were shared between AMT, MPC, and JoHan. I'm not saying all of the same subject were from the same tool. But, some were. I do know for example the AMT and MPC Corvettes were not. But any Olds Toronado, under AMT, MPC, and JoHan were. I did not know if this was case between the 1st generations Camaros or not. I know the 2nd gen Camaros are from separate tools. I also think it would still be interesting still to see the old AMT '69 Camaro compared to the MPC version. Good luck with that. There aren't that many original AMT '69 Camaros floating around here anymore, though I believe BR67 in South Africa has recently been working on one. I did a post where I compared the MPC and the Revell, and the Revell body is VERY similar to the original AMT. I'll see if I can find it for you. ETA: Here it is. Be advised that this is the '80s reissue MPC body. The NEW issue AMT body (same basic kit) is much, much worse. There's already an existing topic to discuss that, without the need to further derail this topic.

I'm not ticked off Scott, but I'd just like to point out that although they were very similar, the MPC Toronados were a separate kit from the AMT/JoHan kits. It's most apparent in the underhood area. Bills72sj
Question, were the all one piece chrome RS grille/headlights kits from MPC? I have built these 3 years ago and cannot remember.
