Repstock Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 Further progress. I lit the pictures this way to highlight the detail, it's hard to photograph white. I have put the curve in the sides as you can see by the door pics. Progress continues...

Meting starts at 7:00 pm. I think they would be interested in seeing the bus prototype you have built. Sorry but that's Graceland not Northland Tom.

Yes of course you are correct. Incidentally the owner announced at our last meeting that after 68 years in that location he will be re-locating the shop to a new location in the Clintonville neighborhood next spring. He will have more room and his lease will more reasonable.I mentioned the bus project to the members and they would like to see at some point when you are available.
Repstock Posted November 24, 2019 Author Posted November 24, 2019 I've gotten a little further. Soon the roof will be attached. I have a job coming in a few days (3 interiors) I will need to make masters for, so this may get shoved aside for awhile. Thanks for the interest.
72 Charger Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 This is fantastic work . How much do you think you will be selling resin bodys for? I always fancied the Greyhound bus with the roof windows
redneckrigger Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 I would be interested in one when you make them available.................fantastic work sir!
etmccaus Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 (edited) Holy smokes, I'm gonna need to buy one when you're done! I actually have a copy of original exterior blueprints for the 5301 prototype...unfortunately, has a few styling modifications from the production coach, so probably not of much use for you... 1930fordpickup Posted November 30, 2019 Posted November 30, 2019 Wow Tom, as with all of your work outstanding.
Repstock Posted December 6, 2019 Author Posted December 6, 2019 More progress. The basic body is done, time to add detail and clean things up.
Ralph Henderson Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Geez. I have a hard time gluing a box together and getting it square. Layers and stacks and corners and windows. Cool watching a build like this, though, because we can see how it all goes together. Doesn't mean we can replicate it, but we can see how it's done. Excellent work Tom! Thanks!
CapSat 6 Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Looks great! I can almost smell the diesel from the SEPTA Bus that used to go by the house I grew up in on Green Lane in Philly...
leafsprings Posted December 8, 2019 Posted December 8, 2019 This bus is a classic, will never goes out of style. I'm in for couple as well. Question. Will it come with fender flares ( rubber on the 1:1) ?

Will it come with fender flares ( rubber on the 1:1) ? I'm not sure yet. Rather than be an out of the box build, it is meant to be a starting point. If I went full detail, in resin the thing would cost hundreds. By only supplying front and rear windows, and trying to get as much in one piece as I can, we're hoping to make this as affordable as humanly possible. When I get my copies, I'm going to go full detail. I had hoped to use archer decal rivets, but we don't think they would survive the rubber pull. There are still some details to work out, but the idea is to offer a great starting point for an unusual subject that everyone can (hopefully) afford.
Sergey Posted December 9, 2019 Posted December 9, 2019 Hello, Tom! I like every step of this project, but if you want to offer a starting point resin kit, may be it's better to cut a square hole in a place you put a net? So everyone can glue there an etched net he found. Just a thought. Nothing more.
Repstock Posted December 12, 2019 Author Posted December 12, 2019 Got the back pretty much squared away, now on to the front.
mikemodeler Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 WOW! I am in total awe as to how you have created this masterpiece!
Repstock Posted January 26, 2020 Author Posted January 26, 2020 I am now free of obligations, so there is further progress on the bus. It's got a front end now! Thanks to hct728(Bob) for giving me some ideas on how to approach the front end details. The bus is 19" long, about the size of a 1/25 40' trailer.
