Reuhkapelti2 Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Hello! This time I will build something for a man/ woman who wants to travel in his/ her own way. Under the hood a V8 gives the power, the 4wd gives the grip. Scratch built frame, suspension and the camper.
Cpt Tuttle Posted October 31, 2019 Posted October 31, 2019 Can you scale it up to 1:1 then, it would be a dream truck for me.... ?

Yeah we need two of them, one for you and one for me. Today I put the frames to the windows and found the grill and bumper that were lost. Some extra lights will be added for night time travelling.
Cpt Tuttle Posted November 1, 2019 Posted November 1, 2019 Exactly. But I have actually thought about some kind of camper for my 1:1 Nissan/Datsun 720 King Cab....But probably not this large, and I think that I will keep the 2,5 litre diesel....lol.
Reuhkapelti2 Posted November 4, 2019 Author Posted November 4, 2019 Okay Mattias, sounds like something to go for. And then ofcourse you should make a model of your 1:1 Datsun camper. My project got the exhaust, side rails, tow bar, dash, seats and some minor extras too. The step bar in the back is moveable/ tilts, so it doesn't hit any rocks while offroading.
Reuhkapelti2 Posted November 5, 2019 Author Posted November 5, 2019 Even more tubes in the front and a new roll cage in the cabin.
Reuhkapelti2 Posted November 7, 2019 Author Posted November 7, 2019 Now my Toyota has brush painted body and Molotow chrome for the tubes. Now I wonder, if the camper should have some colour too. Maybe aluminium light silver?
stavanzer Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Most of the siding material on modern campers and trailers is white to start with. Usually they are just spruced up with various designs or stripes. I'd finish the sundry fittings, hinges, edge pieces and window portholes in silver (bare aluminium) and put some graphics or stripes to break up the bare whiteness. Here is great website for Ideas. I've toured this factory and watched these being built. https://www.lancecamper.com/
Reuhkapelti2 Posted November 8, 2019 Author Posted November 8, 2019 (edited) Thanks Atin and Alex! The basic campers and caravans are indeed white, but for example my 1:1 T@b 320 caravan is metallic gray. So that in mind I decided to give some wheel silver paint to this camper. Maybe some stripes or graffic wouldn't hurt, as Alex suggested. All we need is the camper's windows, and the extra lights are missing the lenses still. The tail lights too, and it's good to go Under Glass. Edit. This Hilux Camper is now Under Glass with new photos. Thanks! Edited November 9, 2019 by Reuhkapelti2
