The upper control arms were cast way too high for some reason and were nowhere close to making contact with the spindle. I had to remove the front suspension and cut the A arms off and relocate them. Probably better to use a kit chassis and just add a tubbed backhalf section as I did on my previous build. Ouch! Well Tim I guess it's true that no good deed goes unpunished. Chalk this up to experience I suppose. Hope there won't be anymore surprises. Glen
bykr Posted December 2, 2019 Author Posted December 2, 2019 Got some work done on the chassis and started on the rollcage.
bykr Posted December 21, 2019 Author Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) Got some color on it. Debating on whether to paint the cage body color or gloss black Edited December 21, 2019 by bykr
Oldschool4x4 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 "Debating on whether to paint the cage body color or gloss black " With the black interior, I'd say body color. Build is coming along real nice.
AmericanMuscleFan Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Nice build! Love these old FORDs (specially the 63 and 64 model). Looks killer with those fat tires...
bykr Posted January 4, 2020 Author Posted January 4, 2020 (edited) Thanks for the kind words. Interior is done except for shifter (having to make a modern Long style manual shifter). Still working on the paint. Edited January 4, 2020 by bykr
bykr Posted June 6, 2020 Author Posted June 6, 2020 Been away working on a 1:1 hotrod . Getting some time to build lately. Needed to put another coat on the body but couldn't find more paint so I decided to strip and went with this ruby color that I like alot better. Added some interior and engine detail too.
Nazz Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 I have to agree, the ruby looks better. This is going to be one nice build.
Glen Powers Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 Tim, good to see your progress. That is a nice red you've gone with, bet your glad you didn't do the cage body color first time around. Glen
