BIGTRUCK Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 I’m not really sure what they are called but they come in all shapes and the ideas are endless. I’ve seen pictures and even an episode of Full Custom Garage where they take remnants of older cars ,that they narrow , shorten and chop into a kind of Highboy , “T” bucket , Silhouette almost a Roth style custom, so I picked up Flintstones resin 65 Lincoln , and I located most of the parts I need to start. I started by cutting off the front clip and got the rear wheel openings to match. Chassis is from an old Ala Kart, everything else is mostly Revell stuff.
BIGTRUCK Posted December 17, 2019 Author Posted December 17, 2019 Switched frame from AMT to apn extra Revell setup I had. I had to add extentions on the rear so the tires ride outside the body. Added parts box tires. Another figure it out along the way project.
cobraman Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I used that body for a build a couple years ago. Yours will be a lot cooler.
CabDriver Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I love these things. Whatever they’re called ? Good start!

Yours was really good Ray its not easy getting things to fit right , but its kind of odd tho'....you didnt have an old Cobra body instead of the Lincoln...??
Jantrix Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I've been wanting to do something like this for a while. I started one years ago based on Gary Campesi's narrowed GTO but all I ended up doing is butchering a lot of plastic. I like what you have going on here. Using the Lil John chassis is a very smart idea. I will be paying close attention.

That chassis is used on many different Revell kits, every time I use one I have to remove most of the chrome to get stuff to fit right and stay in place.
BIGTRUCK Posted December 22, 2019 Author Posted December 22, 2019 Got the base color on and its dry, I may get the pearl top-coat on and take a "Holiday" break. Made some simple front wheel backing plates and also changed the front and rear tires for the 3rd and final time. Still need to cut apart seats and a dash to fit the small interior area.
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Great project. Love the color. Great choice for the chassis.
