Hi recently bought this from an eBay seller that keeps popping up under different names. Thought I would share it with you guys. Casting quality not bad at all - def not Missing Link or Modelhaus quality - but not too far behind. And looks like it could build up in to a fairly decent representation of a Skylark. I've already mocked it up with a set of 66 Skylark wheels I got from ChrisR and an old set of Mpc annual narrow white walls I had in the parts box

I have that resin kit but I got mine from Perry Resin 18 years ago it's the same kit only in the darker tan resin and I only payed $35.00 for it and it used the 69 AMT Chevelle kit as the doner to finish it I just got it out of my stash to build it. Do you have any idea who the resin guy is that made that one I would like to get one more.

I was also thinking of using the Chevelle chassis to complete. You need to watch out on eBay for him to pop up. He constantly changes his name. Just a word of advice - I’ve seen him use approx 3-5 seller names now and evertime the same thing plays out. It all starts off with good reviews and then about 1 month in it all goes to poo. I’ve now bought from him twice and the rule is to get in early

Yea, you can tell it's a copy of Perry's because it has a glaring mistake carried over from it.

The front of the hood and bumper is way too flat. It should have about the same amount of angle to the center as the Monogram '70 does.

R+R resin also did a copy with the same mistake.  He's also been out of business for years ,, passed away.

If it were me, I'd use the chassis from the AMT '69 442. Much better detail plus poseable front wheels. The new Revell '68 Chevelle chassis would also be a good choice with great detail.

The only Buick engines out there of this generation are from the Monogram '70 GSX which is a 455 and 1/24. Wrong valve covers and a bit large for 1/25.

The other choice is from the AMT '69 Riviera. Right scale plus slightly undersize so it looks like the 400 under the hood plus it has the correct valve covers.

It’s never advisable to buy anything from a sketchy eBay seller under these circumstances. First he’s pirated Perry’s kit, then he keeps getting booted for poor dealings. Next you’ll find he’s using a poor quality resin and it warps within a year, dishonesty never is just one or two things, it’s a way of life.

Looks nice sitting up on the wheels and whitewalls.  I say add fender skirts, paint it the same turquoise metallic as the first real car you show,  and have one of the best built Skylarks ever.  Let the worriers keep on worrying and not have their Skylarks.

The frt wheelwell shape and rear window shape are wrong too. The wheelwells should be more square than tapering off in the back. The rear window is still shaped like a Chevelle. Buick was different.

That ebay seller is Wendell Sowers (AFXnScale), who ripped off many including myself at one point. He used to be good, never a problem then it went south. And yes that is a Perry's Resin recast ......
