Chromecop Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 (edited) Built this over a 5 week period Dec 2019-Jan 2020. It was a challenge build as well, all participants got a Camaro. Only allowed to use engine and wheels from other kits , any other "custom parts" had to scratchbuilt. I used stretched sprue for the chrystal chandalier in the roof and also for the glasses and flask in the mirrored barshelf. The "see through" part of the hood came from a plastic box which had been a container for grapes and the clear roof part was just a plain clear blue sheet of plastic. Pegaus wheels (or is it hoppin hydros maybe???) and inline 6 engine from an old AMT Chevy. Edited February 26, 2020 by Chromecop

X2 Nice to see the different take on a Camaro. I enjoy the "theme kit" styles of contests because they often stretch ones imagination in order to come up with something that someone else isn't building. I once combined a 93 Mustang with a P51 Mustang for a contest because I was sure no one else would have thought of that idea for that contest. Later-
Jantrix Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Really terrific work. Very creative and done well. I'm guessing you vacu-formed the roof?
crazyjim Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Don't see a Camaro like that everyday.. Very innovative.

Almost, I heated the plastic and pulled it over a mold (made of the old roof which had been cut off) but didn't use any vacuum.
espo Posted February 26, 2020 Posted February 26, 2020 Looks great and I like how you used so many parts that aren't normally found in modeling.
