Glen Powers Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Guy, I'm glad Alan suggested you post this build as it's also outstanding! Give some thought to the book idea and keep posting. Glen
GoodbuildNY Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Gorgeous job Guy!! I’ve been digging through my parts box trying to find the right size slicks for my build. Where did you source your slicks from? They’re exactly what I’m looking for
Nazz Posted March 2, 2020 Posted March 2, 2020 Love the Maverick. Very nice work. Opening the doors was a nice touch.

Give some thought to the book idea and keep posting. Glen Hi Glen, Thank you. This one wore me out since I haven't done a major job like this since the McLaren. The doors with the side window frames were a real pain. The inner door panels are scratch built including the levers and arm rests. The car is set up the way the actual cars were. Spring towers moved out to accept that SOHC. That engine compartment is all scratch built. And oh God, those headers.... Guy

They’re exactly what I’m looking for GoodbuildNY, The slicks are from the Revell Stone, Woods & Cook or the Mazmanian Willys. Yeah they work out OK. Wheel opening is a little large. If you have a problem with your wheel choice sliding around in the slick, you can run a strip of .010" sheet plastic on your wheel. That should fix the problem. Thank you, Guy

That is not my goal. Please grab that Mav and build! Thank you for your compliments, and steal away! Guy
Guy Beaudette Posted March 3, 2020 Author Posted March 3, 2020 For STYRENE-SURFER, "Can we see the underside?"
