Took advantage of being slow at work and the nice weather we have been having in Maryland and got my 65 Ranchero out. Filled the wrong gas filler door on the passenger side and primed and painted it. Tamiya White Primer with Scale Finishes Chevy Butternut Yellow. The small block Ford looks a bit big in the kit. The 5 spoke wheels need some depth to them to look better in opinion so gonna have to dig out some other wheels

That soft Yellow color really looks good on this. I had a coworker back in the day who bought a White one with Red Interior and the 289 and 4-speed. You're right that little V8 looks huge in the engine compartment, but it fits and they were a really nice package to drive. The Thunderbolt style Hood just looks right on any Ford.  So what do you have going on with the engine and the interior ?

I'm figuring just a simple stock appearing black interior. Engine, my kit came with the stock single carb and the custom triple deuce carb setup, going with the triple deuces.

That should look good. There are several kits out there that have some Shelby engine bits if that's a consideration. I look forward to watching your build on this one.

But I also thought about and dug alittle deeper and found some 1968 Shelby Mustang wheels

There are much better renditions of those wheels in other kits.

The Shelby Wheels would be in keeping with the Ford theme. The Redlines will look great on any wheel chosen.

Kinda been thinking about the wheels out of the Revell Shelby Cobra kit but haven't been able to place my hands on a set of them.

Slow progress between homeschooling and trying to work yet with everything going on in the world. Found a pair of big block Cobra valve covers that seem to fit the heads of the Trumpeter small block 289. Some paint work on the floor pan
