CAL Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 On speed. Odd time for a GP, in any one is intersted.
Nick F40 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Yes it is, and do you ever sleep? I tried, but couldn't quite stay up, so I missed it, but I woke up at 2:30, so didn't miss it by too long, but yeah I've been up since then, kinda ticked that I missed it and went to bed at like 10:30 but I do congrat the winner, thank god! 4:30 running for me!
Zoom Zoom Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I really dislike Fuji as a track. Of course the F1 goes there instead of Suzuka One lap of Suzuka in GT4 is better than an entire F1 race at Fuji. What a cluster-you-know-what at the beginning...fell asleep, still don't know who won and I really don't care (would be cool of Massa made a comeback)...if Hamilton got a drive-thru penalty for squeezing Kimi, why didn't Kimi get one at Spa for sending Hamilton into the bus stop chicane thus giving him the penalty? Things that make you go "hmmmm"... With the circus parade not even coming to NA next year, I won't watch it next year unless/until they come back or the mfgs. start their own series away from FIA/F1. ALMS is infinitely better anyhow
gtlm2000 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) I watched the race today. Alonso did good job in this race. I'm glad he won. well.... What were Hamilton and Massa doing? I really disapoint it. OK, F1 will back to Suzuka in next year!! Edited October 12, 2008 by gtlm2000
Nick F40 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) ehhh the Koni Challenge that's on now, beats F1! Suzuka is better, can't wait for it and night race there. Those two are screwing themselvs over! Starting their own series would be sweet, ALMS is good but Rolex is even better! Of course Touring cars owns all! Edited October 12, 2008 by Nick F40
CAL Posted October 12, 2008 Author Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Hamilton is acting like an idiot again. Massa drove a hard race, probably the hardest points he ever earned. I don't think he did anything wrong or made any mistakes. Unlike Hamilton who made several mistake before the first lap was completed. 1. He got a bad start, 2. Freaked out and over shot turn one. 3. Ran into Kimi. 4. Some how dropped to 7th - setting up the tango with Massa. The penalty for Massa, was proabably undeserved, they were in a scrap, the last thing Hamilton wanted to do, Denise even said before the race, Hamilton knows what he needed to do, be calm and not make any mistakes. Things can change very quickly in racing. I have to take Massa's word for it, and was quoted as saying, I have a good relationship with Lewis Hamilton, I wouldn't do anything purposely to change that, for sure. I just got off in the gravel and couldn't slow the car down any more. Personaly I am glad to see Massa fighting for that position, rather than just giving it up, but really the whole tone of the race was set by Hamiton and H. Kova. who both ran very wide, nearly taking 5 cars out with them, both hitting Kimi and doing damage to his car. The only one coming out on top was R. Kubica. Massa said he passed ahead of Alonso untill he was boxed in at turn 1. It could have been a lot worse. Just another example of how much a menice Hamilton is. Edited October 12, 2008 by CAL
Zoom Zoom Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 (edited) Hamilton a "menice" (sic)? So what's Cool 'Tard? Chopped liver? Lucky he hasn't killed anyone considering the carnage he's been in the middle of for so many years. Has he even finished a race this year? The end of season retirement can't come soon enough. Kudos to Alonso. Hamilton does need to cool it. I suspect he'll eventually learn from these mistakes. But honestly put yourself in his position and if you were in the heat of the battle would you not be liable to do the exact same things? I certainly would! I want to be in front, and have no patience! I'm much safer sticking to video games Edited October 12, 2008 by Zoom Zoom

Of course Touring cars owns all! Most any SCCA race beats F1. I honestly don't see how F1 and NA$CAR draw any crowds. Rolex can't hold a candle to ALMS, except for the touring car races. Road Atlanta had a record crowd last weekend. Daytona looks like a ghost town in January. The fans certainly know where the best racing is. Speed Challenge races are good, but they're killed by such horrifically frequent and long caution periods.
Nick F40 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) I dunno, Hamilton really screwed himself with this one and like Chris sais, showed he is even more a menice. Massa spin, i'm not sure if Bourdais was squeezed into the corner or if he just took it wide and spun Massa out, but I hope it doesn't affect Massa too much. Alonso, I like him as a driver and it's nice to see him win back to back. My boy Vettel did great and Kimi, some problems running off the course which I don't see why they did that, almost taking out other cars, it could have been worse but finished on the podium. Kubica did great. Massa did phenominal, he really caught up and was getting his points back that he lost at Singapore and took advantage of Hamilton's position. It's not that he hates the guy, like he said he has a good relationship and it was his fault for that one. 4 Ferrari's in the top 10 really helped with the Constructors standings! The track is better suited for the Super GT and can't wait for the China GP! Most any SCCA race beats F1. I honestly don't see how F1 and NA$CAR draw any crowds. I don't asee how they do either, but they draw a lot. Don't think I lost it at all, I still love ALMS! I wish we can see the European circuit! Edited October 13, 2008 by Nick F40

Nick F40 Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I really watch ALMS and LMS on TV. Japan doesn't broadcast these race Yeah, we have ALMS, but no LMS which is huge for me. We also have the Rolex series, if you watch that? You don't have Super GT coverage?

Japanese satellite TV broadcast Super GT for live. They also have Formular 1 , GP2 , WRC , DTM , NASCAR and Moto GP program. I have watch only Daytona 24 hours race. They don't coverage all race.

I have watch only Daytona 24 hours race. They don't coverage all race. See, other than NA$CAR, which I don't watch, SPEED, doesn't show WRC, they used to but don't now ever since it wasn't called Speedvision. They used to play EVERYTHING! Now I can't wait for this Racing Network. I LOVED and still LOVE WRC, I think, the best series out there but I can't find a broadcaster. They still play MotoGP and Formula 1 which I like but still. I'll be surprised how much DTM and BTCC coverage they are going to do in the winter. You probably get them when the races actually run! The Daytona 24 is a fine race, but the whole series is amazing, you are definatly missing out on that. See we, or at least I, in America, usually don't say that becuase we don't really have a lot of good race series, you guys and the Europeans do. We do have Rolex, ALMS, and SCCA, but they rarely show coverage of SCCA events.
