Finished this one up a couple of days ago. It's the MPC long stepside kit with the AMT '72 GMC chassis and bed. The original idea was to build it like the boxart only with a short bed instead. But, the decals didn't work out which in the end was actually a good thing. Since they didn't work out, I canned the side pipes also. While my original idea didn’t pan out, I'm still pretty happy with how it turned out and it still reminds me of the first one I built.

Thanx for checking it out!

Came out very nice.  The MPC kit has some little details that are more accurate than the AMT.  I like this very much, but I'm also very biased towards this generation of Chevy pickups.

Thanx! The bed on the MPC kit is not very accurate. Especially the fenders. They're horrible. The side boxart also shows the stepboards way above the rocker panels. I'll have to watch for that issue when I build the GMC longbed with the leftovers. One thing I don't like about these kits is the bucket seats and console. The bench seat was much more common even in the Cheyennes.

I totally agree with you.  Among my pet peeves, I fixed that by making a bench seat.

This truck turned out well... I'm currently working on the same kit but I'm leaving it as a long bed. The decals look cool but I think the gold really pops on it's own. I scanned and printed decals but I'm not satsified so I'm in the process of changing my design... I need to stay focused like you did with this great build.

That is a beautiful build! The color is great! Excellent Work!!

Did you remove the marker lights or were they not molded in on the MPC kit?

Thanx! Yeah, I removed the marker lights, emblems and chrome trim. This is what the cab looked like out of the box.

Great looking truck Roger?.  Good call on removing the trim and marker lights, looks much cleaner without them.  I’d really love see a new tool of the 67-72 Chevy trucks, similar to what Moebius has done with the Fords...pretty sure it would be a great seller.

Wow Roger! That really turned out great. I like that you removed the markers and trim also.

I think I'll send the rest of them to you and have you build them for me. Lol

Nice job on that truck, you nailed the look and the stance! Nice color choice, I am leaning towards a similar color on one that I am building, a K10 shortbed fleetside.
