mrmike Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 (edited) This is my '64 Fairlane Sport Coupe finished in Model Master Wimbledon White with a Model Master Insignia Red interior, 289 CID engine, dual exhaust, Ford Styled Steel wheels, whitewall tires and a center console. Edited May 11, 2020 by mrmike
TooOld Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Great looking Fairlane ! So refreshing to see one that's not a T-Bolt .
randyc Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 I like it. Thanks for posting the buildup and finished car.
Classicgas Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Nice work Mike. Too bad those that complained about what you called it can't take time to say something positive.

Yeah, those who have complained are more concerned about rivet counting than anything else. They can't see beyond their noses. I accomplished my goal and my friend's goal of building a 289 CI Fairlane and so what if I called it a Sport Coupe! It's amazing just how many coupes were produced from the factory by many manufacturers over the years that were actually a sedan underneath. Edited May 16, 2020 by mrmike
Classicgas Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Yep. You did that kit justice. I'm going to do mine with a 390 out of the AMT 66 Fairlane I think.
Force Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 (edited) I have no complain of the build itself, you did a nice job. I just reacted earlier because I used to own a Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe for many years and I know them very well inside and out. But these are model cars and the builder must have the priviledge to do what he want with it. Edited May 16, 2020 by Force

Your reaction didn't help matters, either. I am very much aware that my naming my model a "Sport Coupe" might ruffle the feathers of those who take the subject very seriously. I am also aware that the Revell '64 Fairlane is a sedan and not a coupe as you think it is. I have been told over the years to "lighten up". I could say the same about you, but I won't. Force Posted May 17, 2020 Posted May 17, 2020 I'm sorry if you got offended by my earlier comments, it was not my meaning at all...I tried to be helpful but it seems like it backfired this time.
