bogger44 Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 This is my first completion of the year. Back in February I moved into a new place (even though only a couple miles from where I previously was) so that took up a lot of my time getting settled and all the last several months. Got a spare room now that I can dedicate to a model cave. ? Anyways, I had started this one back in December but hadn't touched it since sometime in January, and finally got around to working on it again here in the last few weeks. I'm calling this one a "factory freak" of sorts since it has the W-30 goodies but I decided to leave the chrome trim and vinyl top on. Paint is Tamiya TS-58 Pearl Light Blue. An interesting color as when photographing it at different angles the camera really changed the shade of it at times. It was a pretty straight forward build, only adding spark plug wires, and swapping in some parts box tires with Fireball Modelworks lettering decals. Oh yeah, aluminum tubing for the exhaust tips too. I wasn't too happy with some of the gaps around the bumper ends, but came up a little empty on any fixes. Overall it's a pretty well engineered kit that went together well.
Matt T. Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 WOW! That is beautiful. It looks real in those photos. Nice work!
Bucky Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Great job! Beautiful color. Interior matches up perfectly. That last pic with the trees looks like it belongs in a 4-4-2 dealer brochure!
1972coronet Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Beautiful 4-4-2 ! The '66-'67 Olds A-bodies are works of art ; your example exemplifies this to a 'T' .
beeRS Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Very nice indeed. That last picture could pass as a 1:1 car.
Spottedlaurel Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 That is very nice, I'd be proud to have that in my cabinet. Great colour choice, quite subtle. What paint did you use on the vinyl top and interior?
GeeBee Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Superb build, I'm wishing I hadn't sold mine a few years ago....
Peter Lombardo Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Looks great, just as I remember the real thing looking all those years ago. Nice job, the vinyl roof is just so period perfect on that car.
unclescott58 Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 Stunning. I'm not a big fan of vinyl roofs. But, you did a great job, and it looks very good.
