Hello all, what is your comments on instant up tents?... looking to get away from all the old plug in poles (yes  my tent is the old kind) and knowing that no tent is perfect, I always use tarps or rainfly on the tents with a coating of water repellant. Still using Coleman products, looking for the cabin style tent. Being in my late fifty's i want to keep it simple since I camp solo by myself. What brand do you use?   THANKS

Do you have a Cabela's near you ? They usually have a display area setup with several different designs assembled so you can inspect them. We got a two room tent a couple of years ago. The storage case is about the size of a large piece of luggage and it will stand up and has wheels to make it easier to move around. As for the poles, I think just about anything of any size will have to have poles to hold it up or you're going to have to string a support from trees and that's not good. I suggest looking on line to see what different companies have to offer.

I wanted something with vertical/straight sides. Found this Ozark Trail but there are other brands. Fed-ex delivered it Saturday, I haven’t had a chance to set it up yet.

Try something from OZTent. One person, 30 second setup. No poles used for the tent, only for the awnings.

I've been eyeballing their RX-5 tent.

And it attaches to their foxwing awning. Pretty cool camp setup.
