DRIPTROIT 71 Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 (edited) I realized a while back that I haven't built a Peterbilt in about 20 years, so here goes. This is the AMT 359 1100 cab wrecker kit "construction" version. The hood looks to be a Bill Drennen product, probably cast by Porky. Front wheels and tires are unknown resin. The rear wheels and tires are A.I.T.M.. The engine is 8v-71 Detroit and the transmission is a 4x4 Spicer. Here is where I am so far. Edited June 16, 2020 by DRIPTROIT 71
Dutzie Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Great start, Brian. Can’t wait to follow your progress.
Mopar - D Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Looking good Brian and looking forward to seeing where you go with your build.
Pete68 Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 (edited) Brian. Very nice and I like that your using my Brothers casting. I have some old narrow Pete hoods he made me in the early 80s I’ll post some day. Bill made his first Narrow Nose Pete around 1970 and still has the truck today. He use that pattern to make the Master for the hood your using now. Very cool using the 1100 Hi-rise cab for this build not to many were made I think the last was in 1976. I’ll be watching closely and thanks for mentioning Bill’s name on this he will appreciate it Bill’s been through a lot the last couple years he lost a step daughter and he battled kidney cancer and won and several back surgeries. He’s doing very well now and still build awesome trucks. Edited June 27, 2020 by Pete68
Hermann Kersten Posted June 29, 2020 Posted June 29, 2020 Another great project coming together! Hermann.

DRIPTROIT 71 Posted July 26, 2020 Author Posted July 26, 2020 A little progress, slowly but surely moving along. It's up on wheels and tires now.
Pete68 Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 Looking good Brian. Never noticed the third tank till you got some paint on it very nice touch. I’ll tell Bill to peak in and have a look
leafsprings Posted July 26, 2020 Posted July 26, 2020 (edited) Great idea for a build, the less common tilting narrow hood Pete. Coming together nicely, have a feeling its going to be put to work in the construction industry hauling a gravel trailer ?. Edited July 26, 2020 by leafsprings
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 15, 2020 Author Posted September 15, 2020 Thanks for all the comments! If finally got started back on this one.
Rockford Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 That interior looks brilliant. The gauges look brilliant.
kilrathy10 Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Man, that looks killer.... I love the paint scheme, and as Stephen stated, the interior looks "brilliant"... Couldn't have said it better, myself...
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 18, 2020 Author Posted September 18, 2020 Thanks guys! I have actually finally finished this one. I will probably post this one under glass tomorrow.

leafsprings Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Excellent interior detailing, colors look spot on! Great twist with the Pete, narrow nose flip, dual headlights and 1100 cab, so many configurations possible!
