I've been a big fan of Street Outlaws, No Prep Kings, and Memphis Street Outlaws on Discovery Channel for two or three years now, but on last night's episode I saw something I'd never seen on there before--a '67 Mustang.

First Generation Camaros are common in the street outlaw world (even quite a few 2Gs) and Chevy IIs/Novas '63-'72 are also very common, but I've NEVER seen any pre-Fox body Mustang in this world before.

It was a red '67 fastback. Very interesting!

Now I'm keeping my eyes open for a '65-'66. B)

Oh, there was also a '90 Cougar. First one of those I've seen on there, too.

Hellanor has been on the okc show as well as no prep kings a few times. Murder novas dad had that nice little ranchero he raced on the show also but unfortunately it burned. Hollywood Bobby's 36 Plymouth was cool also.

The one that shocked me was a Chrysler Conquest (Mitsubishi Starion) and the occasional Chevy Luv.

That's Chris Rankin, its powered by a 427 ci lsx with twin turbos.

Ahh, so we weren’t the only ones to notice that beautiful beast. That, the Cougar, and that little black Ford pickup truck were the highlights of the Illinois cars. The Mustang was tops, though B)

I've seen that one on there two or three times. I think it was at JJ's Arm Drop in WV last year, and also in the $100,000 street race more recently. That thing scoots!

Mini-pickups aren't uncommon; seems like almost every outlaw crew has at least one, but I don't know if I've ever specifically seen a LUV before. B)

I've never seen Hellanor before but I've only been watching maybe 3 years. Within the last year I saw someone with a 1G Falcon, but I think that's the only Falcon I've ever seen. Last week somebody had IIRC a '32 Ford pickup. Doughboy screwed up and jumped on him, and he sat and therefore won. I would have liked to see more of that car. It was from southern Illinois.

He claimed that 32 was 52 and 0 on the street, i did see that lsx peeking out ? so I'd be willing to bet it was quick.

I saw the slickest move ever Monday night from Doughboy's wife (Chelsea?) in the ratty '66 Chevelle "Tomcat." She was racing a big-tire car with a bigger engine, so the guy gave her "the hit" (and maybe a car length, I don't remember). Now usually when somebody gets the hit, JJ stages the cars as normal, then brings his arms to the center of his body and puts them down, lowers his head, and starts walking forward. At some point in the next second or two, the handicapped car takes off, starting the action. But this time, as soon as JJ started moving his arms in/down, Chelsea took off like a BOOH. Caught the guy sleeping--would have caught me sleeping too, I wouldn't have expected her to go THAT soon. Can't say she "jumped," as she had the hit to start with. Guy had no choice but to chase her and she just drove right out of his life. BOO-YAH, girl! B)

I think i prefer the memphis street outlaws, they seem to have more sportsmanship than the oklahoma lot but that could just be down to how the shows are edited. Going purely from the shows some of the oklahoma lot seem quite happy to cheat where as we've all seen the memphis lot not take the cash if someone crashes or breaks and mostly they seem to give as many chances to other team to line up as possible. Its something you rarely see in the other shows. They also seem to be enjoying themselves more than the other lot. I do enjoy the no prep series too but that probably because there is more variety of cars there. I'm kinda surprised with how popular all these series are that none of the companies have done kits of the cars yet, seems like something that could sell well, and still be released as non branded kits later. I'd buy most of them if they were available

JJ is a good guy and an old street hustler but the Memphis cars are nowhere near the OKC cars. The no prep show is probably my favorite and i see it all going that way eventually.

Last night I thought I heard JJ call Chelsea's '66 Chevelle "Bobcat," so I rewound and that's what he said. And then he called it "Bobcat" twice more and I'm starting to think I've been mis-hearing it as Tomcat for weeks. And then later in the show he called it Tomcat again.

Last night's show was a nail-biter up to almost the end. Good episode!

OTOH, I'm not enjoying the Race Night in America show nearly as much. They hop around too much and introduce (and then forget about) too many new people. And way too much arguing. The show's actually hard to watch.

More JJ, please, and also please bring back the 405 crew.

Snake have you noticed on race night america they can't seem to identify cars correctly? Petey smallblocks 69 camaro was called a chevelle cruiser. The 71 grand prix that crashed was called a chevelle. Last week a 78 malibu was called a falcon ?. Oh well i still enjoy the show.

Race Night is a little too Live PD like in the way it’s done, then has somebody who don’t know anything about the topic at hand doing the voice overs.

Lee Roberts got lucky the green camaro got loose because he was very fast. Ol heavy is fast with JJ in it.

Agreed on all counts. That blue '69 Camaro had me worried a bit, too.

I believe I've only seen it beat twice: Once when JJ forgot to turn on his nitrous, and once when he left the "big tire" tune in it on small tires. Good sport JJ admitted his own mistake both times and paid up cheerfully.

The truck hasn't been beating very many times at all. JJ is a stand up guy and is very well respected by his crew. The Memphis crew just came to crossville dragway just about 1 1/2 hours from me but due to this virus i didn't go see them.

OMG! That looks like what I'd expect JJ to drive to a pimp's kid's birthday party! :lol:

That truck has been destroyed and rebuilt 5 or 6 times. I have thought about doing a build for my collection just because i like that truck so much ?

I've not seen Ol' Heavy in this state. WOW. You can't tell me that yellow thing weighs 4720. That is probably why he changed it. I will admit it looks better now.

Being in Canada I have to sensor myself as we get the shows much latter than you do.  And I am with Snake, bring back the 405 crew!
