I’ve had this model on the stack for years, now I’ve built ‘62’s 63’s tons of ‘65’s and all the other year’s of impalas but never have I built the 64 , so it’s time , but it had to be not so much a low rider but a custom, the car that low riders of today got their roots from, a 60’s Style custom that were everywhere on the streets and car shows when I was growing up in Long Beach California, A Larry Watson inspired cool bellflower cruzer,  so starting with the custom body parts that came from the kit , Then adding a cool cob web purple candy and pearl paint job , then to the Astro supremes And small white wall tires ,the rabbit ear antennas and bellflower tip side pipes and of course the white 6” donut steering wheel ,and organ pipe speaker covers in the back window,  all 60’s style , thanks for looking!

Nice.  Looks like something you would see driving around Denver back in the 60's.  I still haven't got up the nerve to try a paint job like that.  Great body and paint work.  Only thing missing is a chain steering wheel.

Beautifully done. You really captured the look and I remember seeing many done with this style paint treatment. Most still had stock bumpers and grills since you can only afford what you can afford.  I sent many years in Santa Monica, Crestline, San Bernardino before moving to the central coast.

Gorgeous build.  How did you do the cobwebbing?

Thanks crazyjim the cob web is done by using candy lacquer , ( in this case candy purple) not reduced shot though your airbrush, if you reduce it it will spray like paint but if you don’t reduce it it will shoot out in chunks and like hair strands , looks like cob web.

Sir, you are an artist!

By the way, I´d never thought that the custom front of this kit would look good but it really works with the Bellflower-treatment!

Yeah I stared at the front in for awhile before I glued it on !! Lol thanks guys!
