stinkybritches Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 Which primer color gives aluminum paint the most realistic appearance? My eyes aren't what they used to be and I can't see any difference when using white, black, or gray.
doorsovdoon Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Most recommend black, but like you, I don't see much difference what colour is used. The most important thing with aluminium or chrome paint is that the surface is as smooth as possible.
stinkybritches Posted July 6, 2020 Author Posted July 6, 2020 Black is what I was thinking. Thank you for your help.
peteski Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Aluminum paint consists of metalalic particles. If the paint coat is applied properly (not too lightly), the primer color is not important - the metallic particles are totally opaque.

Thank you very much.
