What a surpassingly Ugly car. I get the reasons it looks the way it does, but the Mercedes counterpart is sure better looking.

There is no Mercedes counterpart.  The M8 is BMW's GTE/GT-LM platform that raced in FIA-WEC and IMSA.  The FIA program was dropped after last season, but the IMSA program is still going as the M8 retail car is a strong seller in the U.S.

I'm thinking of this car..

The AMG GTs runs in IMSA's GTD class along with the BMW M6. As niteowl7710 said, the M8 runs in GTLM. But yes, they are still on the track at the same time.

Well that car pictured is actually the GT4 car...which would be in the same IMSA support series with the Mustang which operates separately from the 4 class IMSA Weathertech races.

Looks like a release date of December is on the board from a few vendors....no idea how realistic that is....given most of their other releases have been delayed.

I do give props to NuNu for one thing tho....they've made the IMSA bubble an add on to the roof, unlike the C7R and Ford GT from Revell with the molded in bubble, so it will be easier to do a WEC version

with some aftermarket decals.

Lots of build up images have been released.

I think SpotModel's release date of February is probably far more realistic than anything within 2020.  They've still got 3 backlogged kits from this summer to try to cough up before then, and I suspect we'll see the 24hrs of Spa AE92 Corolla before the M8 as well since that's some driving lights and a decal sheet away from how the AE92 was released as a JTCC car in a Beemax box.
