We used to roll the fender lips by placing a base ball bat between the tire and the fender and roll the car back and forth. Start with the handle area of the bat and work your way up to the big end. This way you're bending just a little bit with each pass. Usually this can be done without breaking the paint on the fender and no cutting needed. A good set of Hijackers would go a long way to level out the rear end.

I thought of that but the lip is double thickness and I'm afraid it will flare the well out if I try it.

Going to use some small relief cuts and wood block and big hammer.

Don't need much bareley touches the side wall on the speed bumps in the street.

Also will be replacing rear springs which are very weak and new shocks. If that result isn't satisfactory then I will go to air shocks.

Wheels look good!

BTW, your V6 is in the Jeepster / Commando kit!

Have a local guy trying to trade me a 300 Buick engine for my V6! He decided that the 300 was too big to shoehorn into his jeep!

If I swap for a V8 I'll go with a Buick V8 and a 350 trans although I do have a line on a complete setup to go 4 speed!

Be real careful with any type of impact from the back side as this can distort the metal. The reason we used the old base ball bat thing is that the tire will give a little bit and the bat is applying a slow rolling pressure.

Just finished changing drivers side rear spring. Thi is what was on it .

The one on the other side isn't any better!

Just the spring and new shock on that side made an almost 4 inch difference in height!

Never seen one bent like that let alone 2 of them!

After new springs and shocks I no longer have a tire clearance issue!

That's good. Much better than taking a chance on messing up the body panels.

I'd bet someone torched that spring to lower the rear end. Old, crude, and unpredictable way to drop a coil spring. Too much heat on one side let it  skew off like that, but hard to see under compression.

Hey Johnny, those springs are pretty bad. I had a '69 Chevelle with rear springs were so bad the springs coiled back up into themselves. The car had a 3 inch lift kit and still sat down in the rear! Do you have any pictures of you car with the new springs installed? I would love to see them.
