Don't know if this question has been asked before, search did'nt show anything.

3D Model Specialties as seen on their website have what appear to be very highly detailed products. All scales too. Pricing varies by scale and different makers of the products. Shipping is pretty steep.

Has anyone putchased from them??

Yes, Ron is great to deal with and has excellent product. Agreed, about the shipping, but not his fault. Shapeways did that on there own...

Great variety of detail parts just wish they had a smoother finish.

Smoothest Fine detail is the best you'll get, ( for hobby items, on Shapeways.)

The only downside with the Fine Detail is it is brittle, so you have to be careful if you have to cut or shape it at all. The Accura plastic looks like you can get the same detail, with better rigidity, however it does cost a bit more.

Here's an axle cover from 3D Model Specialties, painted and black washed.

I think the slight graininess gives the part a cast aluminum appearance. I'm pleased with how the cover looks glued on.
