Jim B Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 I started this trailer back in mid-July, and finished it up yesterday. I managed to get a few photos with a couple of my tractors before the skies opened up. I'm not totally sure why i built it as I don't display trailers with my tractors. Not enough room. I guess I built it on a whim & to pose with my tractors so they're not "naked". Read some where that a truck tractor without a trailer is like a man wearing a tuxedo without pants. Not sure how I feel about that, but I did think it was funny! Enjoy. It's not perfect, but I like how it came out. The Revell USA Peterbilt 359 was completed in 2007, and the AMT GMC Astro/95 was completed inn 2010.
grodudulle77 Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Nice trailer , do you plan a load for it ? ??
CRUSADER2 Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Looks great, really sets the tractor units off a treat, you could just strap or rope a tarpaulin to the head board or chuck some chains and timber packers on the bed, or both, wouldn't be a big job, just an idea, but it looks fine as it is, nice work!!
Bills72sj Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Very nice. I have a number of flatbeds to build... someday.
tbill Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 Looking good Jim , love the paint schemes on both of the rigs .
Jim B Posted August 30, 2020 Author Posted August 30, 2020 Thanks, guys. I appreciate the positive comments. I have another flatbed in the stash, and the plan for that is to make it a drop deck to put behind the Alaskan Hauler KW. Well, that's the plan, anyway.
Plastheniker Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Nice work on one of the better AMT kits. The only issue I remember was giving the wood deck a convincing wooden appearance. BTW the colours in the first picture go together really well.
Deuces ll Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 I love what you did with those kits.... Beautiful!.... ??
kilrathy10 Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Nice work, Man... It looks good on the backs of those rigs, too...
Jim B Posted August 31, 2020 Author Posted August 31, 2020 Thanks, guys. I appreciate the kind words. Guido, the Winslow Stripes on the Peterbilt are from JBot, and the Astro cab was painted my another member here for me.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 Great looking flatbed Jim! Those are some great looking trucks as well! I really like the GMC!!
TECHMAN Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 ??? Really nice clean job!!! Looks good sitting behind both trucks!!!! DJ ps- The stripes really set both rigs off nicely!!!
Brinx Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Jim, trailer looks good. I hear what you're saying about the amount of "real estate" trying to display one takes. Here is a trick I did with one I have,I chained down another tractor on it as a back haul to the shop and... as a bonus, I was able to convince my wife that it was in fact "one model" lol
extmcdriver Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Nice job on the trailer and the tractors as well.
Jim B Posted October 5, 2020 Author Posted October 5, 2020 Thanks, guys. I appreciate the comments. Mike, I think I might have to do that with a car hauler & maybe the Ford LN8000 race car hauler. More cars in the display case. Well, sort of.
Ack! Ack-ack! Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 One of the better old AMT kits, nice work.
