Brokenrinker Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 I'm interested in putting old school Craiger wheels on a 1/25 model. Are those available?
Oldcarfan27 Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 "Cragar SS" wheels are (were) available in many vintage car kits. AMT 64 Impala SS, 66 Nova SS, 70 Baldwin Motion Camaro are just a small few that have good representations, but there are many kits that had Cragars included. Very easy wheels to find.
Snake45 Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 '65 Chevelle wagon and El Camino, '72 Nova, too.
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 AMT 1965 Ford Galaxie, '70 Impala and 1937 Chevy kits. Steve
Deuces ll Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 I think the Revell '67 2'n1 Charger kit has those also.....

Like your mom, why not show someone the proper spelling of the name? If Carl only did that once, I would think it was a typo, but he misspelled it twice, so why not let him know the correct spelling? Is that wrong? Edited September 1, 2020 by peteski

OldCarFan pointed out the correct nomenclature in the very first response to the question.

He did not point it out. He just spelled correctly without mentioning that it was the correct spelling. I figured that I would point it out (in a nice way). I'm beginning to be sorry that I was trying to be helpful. I was not trying to be a wise guy, or an a-hole - just pointing out the mistake. Sorry! I think that if someone is to chew me out, it should be Carl (and he hasn't been back yet).

Carl...there are many styles of Cragar wheels and a caboodle of kits that include the various versions. If you could attach a photo of what you are looking for and the tire size your wishing, I'm very confident the brains here on the MCM can put you on the right path?
Safire6 Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 (edited) Here they are on the 1:25 AMT '66 Galaxie kit..... Edited September 2, 2020 by Safire6 added another pic
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 The ones from some of the old AMT kits have pretty nice detail, along with the "Cragar S/S" logo on the center cap. I think this set might have come from the '65 ElCamino kit. Steve
Snake45 Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 Among the very nicest I've ever seen were in the original JoHan '66 Marlin annual. Sadly, they weren't in the '80s reissues.
doorsovdoon Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 The 1970 Pontiac Bonneville 2 in 1 by MPC has a really nice set of Cragars for the custom version, I used them on my '67 Impala.

No, sorry Gareth. Those are not Cragars at all. I don't know exactly what they are supposed to be but they certinly are not Cragars.
Deuces ll Posted September 3, 2020 Posted September 3, 2020 There were some wheel companies back in the day making some copy cat mags.....
