I was considering to show a scratch built 1936 MAN F 4 truck in the Big Rigs sub-forum, but finally I thought that such a subject would be too exotic in an American forum. Now a fellow modeler told me that to his knowledge at least one major American city uses a considerable number of MAN buses. Does anyone know more?

MAN trucks were a pretty common sight when I lived in Egypt. Here's one of the monsters hauling a trailer. Inspiration for those who might like to build a foreign vehicle.  The NIKE swooshes should be pretty easy, but you're on your own with the Arabic lettering.

Jürgen,

Even if American members aren't familiar with some specific make of a car or tuck, that shouldn't stop you from posting your models here.  This forum has members from all over the world, and there is no rule stating that it is limited to American vehicles only.  I for one would be very interested in any model of a bus.

I grew up in Poland and I have seen my share of MAN trucks and buses. As far as tour buses in USA go, I have seen several VAN HOOL buses recently.

Interestingly enough the Freightliner truck manufacturing plant here in Rowan County NC  in the town of Cleveland used to be a M.A.N. bus manufacturing plant until 1988. Regardless I like to see all of your builds!!

With VW Group trying to increased their ownership stake in Navistar (makers of International) from 16% to majority owners, it's always possible they would consider importing or assembling some MAN products at the Navistar factories.  VW Group for those that don't know owns Scania and MAN.
