Fingers crossed they actually pull this off.

They pulled it off. 36 modelers entered 131 models. Peoples Choice award went to RIchmond Va's Eugene Harris' spectacularly clean build of Revell's '29 Model A roadster. He told me that he had adapted his favorite wheels from a die cast.

First place Competition Open Wheel went to Scott Bregi's immaculately detailed Ebbro Brabham BT18 1966 Formula 2 racer .

Level of detail was quite impressive.....like the tiny spring clamps holding the exhaust.

Scott also brought his finely detailed Ohio George Montgomery's Malco gasser.

Theme this year was Rat Rods....there were about a dozen and a half entries.

Eugene Harris also placed in the factory stock category with his 1913 Model T.

Another interesting entry in the Competition Open Wheel category was this Historic Racing Miniatures 1926 Front Wheel drive Indy Racer. I didn't catch the modelers name but I believe he placed 2nd to Scott Bregi's Brabham BT18.

Always enjoy the unusual entries...how often do you see a Metropolitan rigged for drag racing?

Was pleased my own AMT 29 Model A racer eeked out a 3rd place finish in the tough Competition Open Wheel category.

If you are interested, I hear Tidewater Automotive Modeling Society's own Greg Layton posted 300 photos of the show on the TAMS own Facebook pages. Really have to thank Joe Formato,  Bart Powell and the rest of the club for managing to put on a good model show during these tough times.

Greg tells me that the Tidewater Automotive Modelers will be hosting their 29th Contest and Show at the same venue this October the 23rd...theme will be Vintage Racers.
