The German Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 (edited) Hello, friends of glue steam, now a DeSoto from my workbench. Not nearly as good as the model of our colleague here that was shown a few days ago. My model was just junk! Lots of parts were missing. The body looked just gruesome! So I stripped and repainted. I had to improvise with the dashboard and took one from another kit that serves as a spare parts store. Parts of the engine were also missing, the radiator was missing completely. In short, nothing was complete! Well, let's take a look at the DeSoto. I hope he knows to please at least a little? I would be really interested in your opinion. And, as always: Greetings from Germany! Edited September 24, 2020 by The German Greetings. 1
doorsovdoon Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 I like it, very clean build. Would never have guessed it was a wreck. Colour is very nice.
Hard_2_Handle_454 Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Used to see a lot of these at the Charlotte Auto Fair. The have a Desoto club that attends every year.
Classicgas Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Nice. Looks like Revell 59 impala wheels.
espo Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Great looking De Soto and they paint is real glossy. Elegant looking color combination.
The German Posted September 25, 2020 Author Posted September 25, 2020 I never expect so many replies! Thanks a lot for it!
Smitty Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 You did a great job bringing this one back to life. I would not have guessed it was in such poor condition. Now this old Desoto will live on! i
Tom Geiger Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Very nice! I have one in bad shape also. All the trim was damaged or sanded flat. I’ll have to see what I can do with it!
David G. Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Well Done! Looking at the end result, one would never guess that there was so much work behind it. David G.
