Fresh off the bench this weekend.  This is my inaugural build of a Tamiya kit, and I have to say it was one of the smoothest builds I've ever done.  It literally seemed to build itself with nary a part fitment issue.  It won't be my last one for sure.  It's rolling on a set of Aoshima's 19 inch Volk Racing TE37 wheels.  Painted in Tamiya TS-89 Pearl Blue.  Sorry, I should have taken a picture of the interior before I installed it in the body, but I guess there's not a whole lot going on with it being all black anyways lol.  While I was taking the pictures, someone in the neighborhood must have been having a campfire as there was some small flecks of ash coming down.  I did my best to keep it clean during the shoot, but did miss some on a couple pics.

Beautiful build! The body color and choice of wheels really set it off. I used those Volk TE37's on my Skyline build and I'm looking to put another set on another. Tamiya kits are a real pleasure to build. You did a great job on this and it will look nice on the shelf.

Thanks guys!  I thoroughly enjoyed this build, and really like how the wheels set it off as well.

Very clean model. I especially like your choice of wheels and the colour really sets the car off.   What did you  use on them..???

They actually came pre-painted, saved me a little time Lol.  I think Aoshima really nailed the color, whatever it is.

Sharp looking GT-R Tony! I really like the color on the wheels! Did you paint them or did they come in that color? Nice work!

Thanks Roger.  They came in that color, was one less thing for me to do! LOL

bautiful build, very sharp, those wheels are a great upgrade. did you have to swap the wheel fitmet or did that come woth the aoshima wheels?

Thanks Atin.  I did have to modify them a bit to fit.  I had to grind down the mounting bosses on them to get them tucked under the fenders.  To pin them to the brakes I found that a short piece of toothpick was just the right diameter and worked, so I went with that.  I'm sure I could have cut off the pins on the stock kit supplied wheels and used those too.
