Goodwrench3 Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 I think I've watched all of the Walt Longmire series at least 5 or 6 times now. Every time I watch it I want a model of his Bronco ! Was that model of Ford Bronco ever made as a kit ?
iamsuperdan Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 As far as I know, this generation was not. If I recall, there have been a couple of build threads here of people taking the mid-80s Bronco kit and doing a little surgery with the F150 Lightning kit.
Fat Brian Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Nope, that generation of Bronco was not done. However, three different companies did the 80-86 body style. Of the three the Monogram 1/24th kit looks the most like the real thing out of the box. It's also the easiest to get ahold of at a reasonable price. The Revell and MPC kits both have shape issues around the window/windshield area. If you want one really bad you could get the 92-96 Lightning kit that's out now and cut it up. For the top you could post in the Wanted section and see if anyone has one they'd part with. I have parts of an MPC kit and could take some measurements for you to plan your cuts.
Plowboy Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 The only way to get Walt's Bronco is bash an MPC '80s Bronco with an AMT '93 F-150. 1
Fabrux Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Seems to be someone has done this Bronco in resin, but I can't remember who...
Goodwrench3 Posted October 14, 2020 Author Posted October 14, 2020 And with a few scale "Rainier" cans sitting on the hood ? 1

stavanzer Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 I have a build started of Walt's Bronco. I'm using the Revell (Ex-Monogram) kit, and just choosing to live with the wrong year issue. I ordered a set of Custom Lic Plates for it though. Was able to get the exact plate he has on his truck. I figure Walt has been driving Bronco's for a long time, and given how often he wrecks them or wears them out, at one time he had one that is the same year as the Monogram kit. Mine is more of a Tribute Build than an exact replica. So That's my Story, and I'm Sticking to It.
Goodwrench3 Posted October 19, 2021 Author Posted October 19, 2021 Were you able to find the Absaroka county sheriff's badge decal for the doors ?
stavanzer Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 No, I'm using a Generic Badge from ChimneyVille Hobbies.
The Junkman Posted October 19, 2021 Posted October 19, 2021 This guy is just slightly ahead of you (no connection). Seems he did the kit bashing described above. https://mikesscalemodels.shutterfly.com/pictures/8
